SPOILER Mastery Tomes

Hello everyone, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe a post was made about this yet.

In the trailer for a brief period you can see one of the new items, a mastery tome. Now please note this is not a piece of armour, nor weapon, but instead a consumable. Here are a couple screenshots I dug out.




Notice the words, 'when used'.

I am curious to as how these will be obtained because if I find a mythic, whilst loot running, for it just to be a consumable I think I might just cry.

tl;dr we're getting a new type of consumables

 

Salted confirmed it would be a new type of equipment. No consumable. Also they are found inside raids with a higher drop chance than current normal mythics

More like an equipable item.

I think the description might be a bit misleading but it means equiped imo (My guess is that the description said "is used" since you can't really equip a tome as you would with a helmet)

I think I've heard it is supposed to be permament buffs to class or something like this.

 

Yeah I checked the 1.20 post again and it does mention permanent so that's very much reassuring.

 

The way I see it is that it is going to act like a consumable, but the item wont be used up, instead it will be put on cooldown.

I’m just curious to see how much more common mythic tomes are than normal mythics.
