Media Cryptic Wynncraft Twitter Post

So this got posted on the Wynncraft twitter, time to make a thread about it before anyone else does:

So, we have once again been presented with fancy symbols. What they mean - I have no clue. I feel like the forum community is overall pretty smart, so I'm hoping y'all will figure out something. As to what I personally think it means, I can't really say because I know 1% more about the update then all of you do, so I don't want to accidentally spoil something.

So yeah, what do you think this is? Words? Salted bashing his head against an alien keyboard? Either way, I get the feeling symbols like this are very important for the update.

 

You guys still don't know what the symbols translate to? I thought it was pretty easy to decipher them.

Unless I'm mistaken, this unfortunately isn't Wynnic. I mean come'on, that would be too easy!

welp time to scour wynn for clues

Word log:

Syriac w = second last symbol

 

The fourth symbol has a striking resemblance to that of the content team.
(Or at least what's released with the updates)

My guess is it's written in Gavellic/Gavellian/Gavellan/Gavel. Perhaps it's a sister language to Wynnic but I'm just gonna say that there's no character corresponding to what looks like a 'p' in Wynnic. I'm not sure if the transcriber will help here

 

Do the people of Fruma or creatures in Dern have any special languages? My theory is it might be one of those.

 

My current theory, having literally just woken up, is that this is an ancient language just like Wynnic. Judging by the aesthetics, it might be Elvish-

Should also be considering other 7 letter words, or 4 & 3 letter words like void, wind, ahmsord, cinfras, housing

It’s a new language, for sure.

New languages come with new regions or areas, just like how Wynnic came with Gavel. But seeing as the information we got for 1.20 does not point to either Fruma or Dern’s release, we can only suspect that this new language is going to accompany the release of a new region - an important one, as so it seems.

Such of its importance that we got an entirely new language that was created for it.

Now, if we could compare this language to Wynnic...

Wynnic’s alphabet is characterized by sharp strokes, numerous angles, and a uniformed writing style. You could call it “angular” or “acute” or something like that.

This new language’s alphabet is different: it’s curvy, smooth, there’s a flow to it. Compared to Wynnic, with its runic-styled writing (accompanied by the fact that Gavel fits said description, perhaps), the new language strikes me as something that would befit a region that is air-themed, or water-themed, or something along those lines.

A new language, created to accompany the possible release of a new region that is air or sky-themed, that was maybe an important stage in the lore?

The most recent teaser we had showed us a little flyby of the “Fallen Protectors” - their remains haplessly strewn about in an area that looks remarkably similar to the Void. What were they protecting?

We know that there is indeed one place in the Void that is still shrouded in mystery.


The Wind Fortress.


A place of monumental importance that fell to the Void long ago, principal enough that it requires protectors around it, and is on the same league as a major province update that it has, what seems to be a whole new language, created for it.

We are getting that Wind Fortress in 1.20, boys.

 

Yeah, I was following roughly the same logic for why this would be some kind of Elvish, but this being some sort of script unique to Wind Fortress is entirely possible as well. And to quote a theory of myself from the Fallen Protectors teaser:

We're looking at a very high possibility of getting Wind Fortress. That being said, an image from one of the monthly CT update threads really makes me think of Aldorei, so I want to still consider that. It's possible that it's just some ancient alphabet from before even Sky Islands existed, and used through Gavel as a whole (so including the elves and Wind Fortress inhabitants) until being forgotten one day.

 

I'm not expecting a large new area. So far neither the teaser nor the monthly updates showed or even pointed to any entirely new areas and I think that that would be the first thing that would be teased if it did come out. We also know that we're definitely not getting Fruma and Dern and I don't know about any other new areas that could be added. Well... Except a Light Realm expansion I suppose. And using the language addition as a reference isn't handy because of the small sample size (1).

Also I'm pretty sure that the fallen protectors teaser was showing off a revamped void and not a new area. Within this new void I expect the wind fortress as a dungeon.

 

Brand new Enchanting table language 2 looks awasome.
