I think that the RAW identifications could be added to the "simple terms". I don't think it's clear to new people that raw spell/melee refers to 'neutral' spell damage and main attack neutral damage or that raw HPR refers to Health Regen

Could you possibly add ehp (effective hit points) to the list of acronyms? I have seen it used a lot when talking about warrior and especially hero builds, and it took me a while to figure out what they were talking about.

is esd a concept that people use or did i just make that up

 

Effective spell damage? (If I guessed correctly), no I don't think that's a thing that is used

 

People say sd to refer to spell damage sometimes

(What would effective spell damage even be? Is that like boosted damage?)

 

Effective spell damage would probably be converting spell damage raw to spell damage % and adding that to the existing spell damage % on an item, thus getting a value of effective spell damage which would allow you to compare between items with raw and spell damage.
The problem is that this conversion is different for every weapon, due to it depending on the item's base dps, so that becomes really useless and meaningless to do it all over again for each different item. plus unlike effective HP, there are all the elemental boosts, skillpoint boosts and all the other fun stuff that goes into damage calculation, that can overthrow an item even if it would have higher effective spell damage per say.

 

i interpret esd as the sd% + the relevant elemental damage (e.g. ophiuchus has 40%esd)
obviously what iTech said still holds so its really just an approximation
