    Hello,

has anyone some tips for the Mage class?

I already created a Mage character and I'm now level 21.
I'm looking for tips for the usage of the skill points and equipment recommandations.
Some basic tips for the game and the class Mage would be nice too.

    Thank you :)

I'd put a lot of points in intel since it'll help with your spells. Mage is good with pretty much any elemental combo, my favorites being EWF (earth, water, fire) and TWF (thunder, water, fire), but any build will work.

For gear, I'd recommend items that give some good mana regen and spell damage bonuses, as well as water damage (even if your weapon isn't water damage based, this will buff your heal spell) and mana steal.

Game advice? Don't do professions unless you find them fun, try to play through slowly and explore and do the content. Don't try to level up really quickly, don't spend a ton of money on overpowered items until the endgame and honestly don't use too many overpowered items or the game can become too easy.

Use your heal spell a lot, try to trap or circle around enemies to compensate for meteor's slow speed (once you get ice snake this will work better) and don't think you'll be invincible just because of heal.

Not hugely in the early game, but if you have a ton of points in dexterity is something and you're using gear that doesn't really take advantage of that, you'd be better off resetting them. Late game, you'll probably want to min-max a bit more and make sure your skill points are properly assigned, but for the early game it doesn't matter quite as much as long as you can use the gear you want.

I have another question to this part.

Is it recommendable to 'main' one of your suggested combos for my Mage character?
Like should I adapt my choise of the next equipment I get to one of that combo that I want to use?

    Also what is about Agility?
Is it useless for the Mage when I put the points into Defence?

About spell damage: For mage +raw spell damage is far superior to + spell damage %, because raw spell damage is multiplied x5 on mage's meteor.
Take the crossing for example, it gives about +500 raw spell damage, but its actual boost on meteor is +2.5k.

It's better to focus on one defence skill, because defence skill points don't give diminishing returns, in fact, they get more effective the more you have. Defence is better that agility for people with high health, but if you have low health, agility is better. Agility is also associated with high walk speed.

In reality though, you will do fine with just random rares and legendaries you find. Don't worry about early game building, that's only really for HIC(H) and people who like building and want something different or fun to work with.

I will criticize one thing: early game building is a good a idea.
You don't have to go all in and invest a ton into a bunch of specific items for your build, but generally keeping a rough build with items that synergize well and benefit your playstyle is definitely something I'd recommend.
