Alkatraz Is It Worth It

Hey there,
I've played Warrior for almost 7 years now and used Apoc since mythics came out. Recently I thought about maybe giving Alkatraz a try. I do have enough LE but since I want to try out some mythic builds for other classes in the future and I don't really want to do market selling again. So my founds aren't endless. So is Alkatraz worth giving it a try?

(From what I've seen Alka is basically the highest damaging melee warrior mythic, but it's glassy. So if you wanna be a melee glass cannon, Alka is an ok choice. I'd suggest other options that are a bit more balanced though. Also, spell Alka seems outdamaged by other warrior mythics, so...)

(Also, just so you know, all the mythic spears are good in their own way. My Hero build is my favorite build out of what I've seen (Since it combines ultratank with ridiculous damage), but I don't want to proffer it as the only usable/OP choice. Hero is getting buffed next push though so that the major ID procs at half health instead of 30%)

 

no. do /class, delete the warrior, pick ANY of the other classes

maybe not assassin but archer or shaman? good choices

basically any class other than warrior is good. assassin is probably the second best, behind archer.

but for real, ig you could try alka but the thing is if you get bored of it or its mediocrity due to hyperglassiness then alka is gonna be near impossible to sell.

also yeah, its one of the only “glassy” mythics that are bad. hyperglass + slow movement + being melee warrior really hinders it.

 

Warrior is secretly best class

 

Us warrior "elite" can only hope it becomes the best in the future.

I'd probably go for a different spear but that's just me. Any other mythic spear I think is a better option really as you can tank a lot with Guardian, have good spell builds with either Idol, Thrundacrack, or Collapse, and I would say that a melee Collapse could be better than Alkatraz but this is coming from a Collapse junky. As seen with Hero, it seems to be an odd one amongst all the spears to me for being kinda melee and kinda tanky at the same time but you can then exploit the major id to get like 20K average uppercuts(I smell a future nerf to that major id in the future).

28k uppers at 30% is practically the minimum

(Assuming earth powders)

 

Honestly if you're looking to have fun Hero is the best choice, coz speed is always fun and it fits perfectly with Booster Plate (and bplate warrior is probably the most fun I've ever had with warrior)

Using Idol with bplate also works nicely, but it's much more expensive and not as much ws

 

I guess my math isn't adding up, you gain a +10% dmg bonus from War Scream and an additional 50% from the major id. If the math is right, 10% dmg added on to the average uppercut increases it to about 14.2K. Add a further 50% on top of that and it goes to an average of 21.3K. The upper limit then should be done a similar way and that gives about 28.8K max to what I'm calculating unless you I'm forgetting something else. If this is intentional, then that might make Hero one of the more powerful spears in Wynncraft but I feel like that it is going to get nerfed a bit as the major ID only says that allies gain the 50% dmg and def boost and not the main player.

I think the damage boost is 1.5x final damage though, Atleast that’s what my minimal testing has shown.

(I doubt a Hero nerf is on the docket rn though since I haven’t seen many Major ID Hero builds in circulation and the damage isn’t spectacular unless you rage powder)

You're right that Warrior isn't meta. But I can still Solo every boss/dungeon with my Warrior I created as a first character 7 years ago. So it's fine for me to play my trusty old Warrior even though other classes perform better. Still leveling a dark mage atm. Archer after that
