Attention All Minecraft Gamers

Minecraft live 2020 is on its way and the mob vote mobs have been announced. Over the past 2 years, we have seen some realistic mobs revealed. We got foxes and mountain goats are expected for 1.17. The losers are expected for later updates. This time, we have some fantasy mobs. This thread will be updated with details on each mob so you can make a wise decision on who to vote. Stay tuned.

1. Moobloom
You know how peppered the mooshroom was killed in a craftedmovie skit (idk the craftedmovie lore lol)? well too bad because he's getting revived by this mob. The Moobloom is from Minecraft Earth so it's interesting to see it come to the java and bedrock editions. They will spawn in flower forests and will be good friends with bees, so bee farmers should be prepared to invest in them. It is unknown if they will be added alongside buttercups although i'd like to say they will and buttercups can be made into a poison suspicious stew.

2. Iceologer
I have not played the creeping winter DLC for Dungeons yet. That's because I can't beat the redstone monstrosity yet, but I have a good idea as to what it will come with in Java and Bedrock edition. The Iceologer will spawn at mountain peaks and will attack the player with a large frozen cloud, in an attempt to squish them. I don't know if it will be in raids or not.
To be honest, I'm pretty surprised that when choosing a new Illager to add they chose the Iceologer. The Creeping Winter DLC for dungeons is new and lesser known. I would have expected them to choose the Enchanter or something better known. I suppose it's the only biome-based Illager in the game though. It has also gained the name ''Chillager'' which suits it far better.

3. Glow squids
Another minecraft earth mob. By this point, it's quite clear that this mob vote focuses on mobs from other minecraft games. The glow squid is just a luminous reskin of the classic squid. That's literally it. Same awful AI and drops as regular squids but it's special because it glows. Maybe there is something that Mojang doesn't want to tell us about this but the trailer for this guy is pretty much just Jeb and Agnes being hypnotised by this admittedly well textured squid. Judging from the poll so far, this is going to win the vote. I can tell the community will be upset again. Also, very important note. The glow squid will NOT emit dynamic lighting. Maybe they will in the RTX version but not in the regular versions. If you want to vote it for that, be warned.

I'm going to vote for the Iceologer. It has the most meme potential, will actually add something new to the game, and is overall just my favourite. I'm not sure if the losers will be scrapped or if they will be added in later updates, but I hope it's the latter.

 

Update: Glow squids are confirmed to not emit light. They glow like enderman eyes.

 

Glow Squids might be my pick, as the ocean could always use some more cool stuff. That being said, the Moobloom looks adorable.
Not a big fan of Iceologer, what happened to the days of interesting creatures like creepers and endermen, rather than illager #12?

At the end of the day though, I'm probably gonna forget when minecon is and therefore not vote for any of these.

 

I think the Iceologer is probably going to win. The majority currently want it and most people who support the glow squid only do so because they think it will emit dynamic lighting. I like them all but I'm going with Iceologer. I want them all though :(
I won't care if the others win because they will all be cool in some way

It would be cool to get glowing ink from these squids that you could use to dye signs so they glowed like enderman eyes.

 

I wouldn't get my hopes up. They drop regular ink sacs in minecraft earth.

I hope the Iceologer wins, it's what I'm voting for.

This is because:

-I really don't like the glowing squid. It looks ugly and seems a bit useless and the whole hypnosis thing seems more annoying than anything else
-I really like the Moobloom, it looks pretty cute and will be useful, but I think if it were added it would detract from the mooshroom and make it less unique, since there will be another special cow in the game.
-Currently, and having seen Game Theory's videos on Minecraft's Lore, I really like the whole Villager / Illager stuff MC's been doing. Another illager is a welcome sight for me. Coupled with the mountain update that has to come at some point, it would be really cool to have this mini boss fight on top of a huge mountain. Maybe we'll even get a new structure for the Iceologer too ? Having another Illager that you can encounter would also make the world feel less lonely; like, I like minecraft but I find it hard to play Singleplayer without a village cause I feel kinda lonely... (Not sure if anyone else feels that way)

That's my opinion anyway.

 

The glowing squid will not hypnotise the player, that was just a joke for the animation.
I like the illager lore but you shouldn't trust all words that come out of MatPat's mouth (he said that endermen just run really fast lmfao)

 

So apart from emit light, what does the squid even do then?

Granted but the point is I still like the premise and point + adds a bigger population to world

 

Doesn't even emit light, just glows like enderman eyes and spider eyes. Pretty much the most useless option. If you want utility, vote moobloom because it will probably come with buttercups. If you like lore, vote the Chillager. If you want another useless squid, vote Glow squid!

 

I don't want the Iceologer because I fear it'll make the Mountains/Extrene Hills biome annoyingly dangerous. The Moobloom seems kinda neat, but just like with the Glowsquid, I don't see what use they are. The squid does look really cool though so by process of elimination, I'm voting for that guy.

 

I probably won't quite for the iceologer, mainly because it'd make building stuff there kinda annoying, but it would fit with the snowier snow. I'll probably vote for the moobloom or maybe the glow squid, if it drops something useful.

 

Moobloom has been eliminated. It should have been the glow squid. To all moobloom supporters, I have faith that you will vote Iceologer for the final vote.

 

It's pretty tense isn't it, though currently the damn squid is edging it.
