Spyfall: Game 1[5/10]

Many of you may remember the Spyfall game I ran a while back, and I'm here once again to try it out again. The rules are the same as the original thread, but if you've forgotten or haven't played before, here they are:

In this game of Spyfall, there will be ten players, one of which is a "Spy". The other nine players will each be told a location(the same for all players) and their role in that location. The spy will not be told either piece of info.
One person will be chosen to begin the game. They will ask any player a question about the location, such as "What do you smell?" The answerer of the question can answer as vaguely or as detailed as they wish.
The spy, of course, has no idea what the loccation is so they must piece together information from the other players to figure out the location.
The game ends on one of two conditions:
1. The Spy attempts to guess the location.
At any time during the game, the spy can reveal themselves and guess what the location is. If they are correct, they win. If they are incorrect, they lose.
2. A player accuses another player of being the spy.
At any point during the game, any player(including the spy) can accuse another player of being the spy. If there is a majority vote(6-3), then the player must reveal their role. If they are the spy, they lose. If they are not the spy, the real spy wins. If there is not a majority vote, then play resumes as normal.

Iirc, each person can only try to out someone as a spy once.
Like if I said tsu2 was the spy, and it wasnt majority vote, then I cant later say tsu2 or tsu3 is a spy.
That ruling wasn't listed here, so I'm wondering if you play with it?

How many players are we going for, 10 being the max or the starting

 

The way I played it was that you can accuse muliple times, so thats the way we're playing it here.
I'm going to try to get 10 players, but I can settle for less

the way i played it, spies are allowed one final guess after they are accused by a majority vote, and win regardless if that guess is correct
are we playing that here?

Sounds likee something I could try, but first game I'm hoing to run the way I played it and see how it goes

 

Maybe better to put the minimum in the title and have the maximum in the OP instead? So people know how close we are to starting. Once we reach the minimum, we can always wait a day or two for additional players?

I remember an issue with the last one where we kept screwing up turn order because we thought the one who just got asked the question gets to go. How are we doing turn orders here, might as well make it clear from the start. xD

Is this an example or does it have to be minimum 6 for majority. This also means that the accuser and the accused get to vote?

 

the way i've played it, "accusing" is in practice just opening up a vote where each player votes for another player of choice, and an accusation is successful if more than half the players vote for the same person

if this isn't the way it works i'll wait to be corrected

 

Based on how I played before and implying from the posts, a person can call out someone else as the spy. Then people vote if that person is a spy or not.

Although another question comes up for my situation. Is there a grace period for talking or explaining, and then confirmation? Or is it accuse, then vote with nothing inbetween?

Also can we talk during the game or is it questions only? IE. Can I publicly discuss who I'm sus on and why, without making an accusation?

Turn order will be decided once the game starts
The voting for another player as spy includes the accuser, then there must be a majority 5-3 vote by the other players, excluding the spy.

Voting is only against the accused player. Once the voting is over, if the player was not voted out, then any other player may still accuse.

The accused player gets until the voting is complete to defend themselves.
You can talk during the game, as long as you make it clear that you aren't asking a question, and don't reveal your location. In addition, you can discuss other players

Votes are done on the thread, and you can change your vote at any time until either the player reveals or the vote ends
Also I meant to say “accused player” not “spy” there
