In the past couple of days I patched together and trained a shoddy neural network to create random wynn-esque songs as a boredom project. Due to the limited availability of Wynn midis online, I didn't have a particularly large data set for the network, so the outcome didn't end up too great - but hey, that was never the intent. I just needed something to waste lifetime on

Here's a few random examples of what was produced at its 1500th epoch with 114 samples from 37 songs. I added some rudimentary drums manually, but the actual songs are completely unmodified:
(Uploaded as videos to make them playable directly on the forums)

Funnily enough, the resulting songs end up having a style that's strongly reminiscent to that of Needlr's, since his work occupied the largest portion of the training data. I didn't really intend to take this anywhere, but hey, might as well grind a couple of internet points with a barebones thread while I'm at it

They were in order when I released the thread, now they're not. The only reason for that is to piss people off

i definitely hear the style of needlr in a lot of these songs
like how the drum groove goes in pretty much all the songs and how the chords are played on the off beat with the bass being on the beat
how the melody is structured with having repeating phrases and the such (for the most part)
some of the songs with big chords and some syncopation like in 5 giving it a xavier vibe

this is super cool though i would totally want to see what it would do with data from songs made by one composer just to see how it would recreate their style
or with the entire ost to give the ultimate wynn song (though these songs are pretty much that)

Imo only "1" actually reminds me of wynn music, the others are a bit more gavel or something feel. They do sound pretty nice though

Sounds cool. Kind of messy, since it sounds like there are 2+ melodies in certain songs, but thats fine.

Wynntils has all of the songs as mp3s, idk if that would help since you said its MIDIs that you used.

I'd be interested in hearing what it does with SE music.
