My Forums Experience So Far

When I first found the wynncraft forums it was a sojourn into the planning parlour to get help on the ??? quest. However, on my way there I noticed a little area called class builds. For a while, I lurked there and looked at the interesting builds that I did not fully understand due to being a returning player (I left before skill point reqs were added), and even found an opportunity to post a build.

Anyways, after I got my mage and warrior to endgame I started going back to the forums more and more. It was kind of addicting. However, my first few posts (and even some of my posts now), were a bit of an anxiety filled roller coaster. Obviously since I was a returning player I did not understand game mechanics amazingly well, so I made a fool out of myself on multiple occasions. Some of these mistakes were forgivingly explained to me, while for others I was verbally beaten over the head with a brick. This experience led me to contemplate leaving the forums and only going to it for utility purposes, such as for getting a build I really needed. However, I was addicted to the forums by this point and couldn't help but obsessively check the class builds and questions forums to see if there was anything I could answer or provide help with.

Over time I think I have gotten more experienced and I sincerely hope my advice/builds are better now than they were before, lol. Regardless, I have gotten a lot more comfortable using the forums. I realized the people who are a bit insensitive with their posts are being silly, and shouldn't be given attention to.

Greedy Heavy Praesidium Build (Note: The thing I'm proud of is not the heavy melee parts, but that I thought to use Greed with it)

Anyways, this experience so far has surprised me with the pretty steep learning curve that comes with learning Wynn's game mechanics. Unless you have someone guiding you, there is little chance for the average player to come across all the relevant game mechanics in a timely manner. And asking about these game mechanics is sometimes scary for people with social anxiety (sometimes with good reason).
I was also surprised when I made a guide post by how many endgame players did not know what I considered to be basic game mechanics after lurking in Class Builds for a while. It made me realize that Wynn was a different place to me than it was for other people (not that that's a bad thing, it was just an interesting observation to me)

I was just a bit excited about finally hitting 400 posts, and getting so close to a 50% like ratio and wanted to make a post about my experience on the forums. I have a lot of fun in this little virtual place, and enjoy helping people out tremendously (Honestly, helping people in these forums have helped reinforce my prospective career path of being a teacher). It has also been fun to see all the different kinds of people on these forums and the different little quirks they bring to keep Wynn a thriving community.
(Also, apparently lurking in the class builds and questions forums is not conducive to a high like ratio, apparently you just need to make memes on this forum, lol)

I had a similar feeling when I started to, it mostly started with bad silly custom weapons and dumb Wynncraft ideas. Now I make the occasional build that I think are good only for it to be overshadowed by someone elses and help out beginning players with leveling or other stuff. Who cares though, in the end it's all about having fun and making friends. Glad to see were you've come.

Same happens for me, but it is fun, and you're right that that's all that matters.
I like making my super gimmicky/tanky builds. I try to make builds that can solo LI without pots, and that just feel unkillable. (Which means I mostly end up making warrior builds since that's the class that struggles the most with pots in LI/EO)

Yeah, I think that's just a phrasing thing. Anyways, the thing I'm proud of about that build is that I used greed with it, the build itself is pretty easy to make.

i don't think it's too uncommon; i'm actually really similar to ren in terms of being fairly new to class building, liking survivability, actually playing wynn and also being in fox at one point
