"It used to be worth 10 so it still must be worth 10!" is a great argument when you're the one selling it, but I reckon if I tried to sell them a T6 powder for 16 le, they'd call it a scam (and they'd be right). The market changes to reflect supply and demand, and claiming something is "worth" more than people are selling it for and buying it for in a free market is honestly nonsensical.

They are complaining about how the value of their mythics dropped, making them lose money
Which I actually experienced, I remember buying a Dawnbreak for 50LE and then 1 month later they happened to be at 10LE
But I prefer losing 40LE while getting access to possibly a Weathered over seeing the items I actually care about be literally unreachable without winning the lottery, honestly

I think a lot of us are looking at this wrong. No matter what happens, barring a nerf or buff or new items, a mythic will always be as good as it was previously. It's id's will still be the same no matter what the economy does. Emeralds, on the other hand, are only useful to buy stuff. Instead of looking at how many emeralds a mythic is worth, maybe it should be how many mythics is an emerald worth?

Now, of course different mythics changed prices by different amounts, and out of that whole mess of figuring out how much something is worth, people are going to lose money, but thats just how the economy works. Mythics aren't exactly the best investments since its only really easy to predict when their price will drop

Damn, the quality of posts is getting reeeeeeal low. Not really surprised though.

Simple supply and demand, supply increased due to loot quality+lots of people at home able to lr, demand didn't. So prices dropped.
The only reason why it felt like a crash was because price checkers artificially held prices high for as long as possible (some unintentionally, some intentionally). So instead of a steady fall in price, mythics lost over half their value extremely quickly.

Wow, did we really need a post for this?

Don't know if its been mentioned already in the comments but another reason might be that with the pandemic people have been home more, therefore spending more time on wynn finding mythics

It's really noone's fault that mythics deflated so bad. Ofc if you can't sell a mythic you're gonna underprice it, and if you have the opportunity to find a shit ton of mythics you're gonna hop on the train, but god damn do i miss reselling smh.

It really isn't about investing money in mythics. It's about investing our time. I know so many people who've invested hundreds of hours into lootrunning, and suddenly all their efforts have been completely wasted by mythic deflation. Do you know how infuriating it is to dump hours into finding a mythic, only for it to get duplicated 300 times on the trade market and lose all value?

I understand that it may sound absolutely ridiculous, but it's not a good feeling when hundreds of hours of work is suddenly invalidated.
    ________________________________
And don't even say that they should've known that mythics weren't a good investment. Nobody can expect mythic prices to drop by 1/3 in less than 3 months, as well as countless mythics being duplicated on the trade market.

If that's not getting taken care of, then we should question the mod team about this tbh

Like I've stated, it's not just mythics that have lost value. Everything has dropped. Therefore mythics are still valuable, even if their tag says 2 stacks instead of 5 or whatever. Because that other mythic you can buy with the money you make selling your current one has also lowered in price.
You do not understand that raw currency in the market and circulating is what drives these prices, along with supply and demand. It has very little to do with duplication. Many more mythics are being found than ever have been duplicated. So it's really not a valid reason.

On top of that, you can still convert those mythics to raw by selling them, and the 300 hours you spent or whoever spent grinding mythics will still have a boat load more raw le than anyone who spends 300 hours straight grinding raw emeralds. So I do not understand how it is invalidated work, or worthless effort.

I understand people saying that it's nobody's fault that mythic prices have dropped so significantly, but seeing people calling lootrunners "lucky" for putting in the hours to get the mythics that they wanted, instead of complaining on the discord about how mythics are too rare is honestly really stupid.

And calling lootrunners "whiney" for complaining about their mythics devaluing? Think about how it would f
It absolutely should be taken care of, but it just hasn't. The entire lootrunning community has questioned the integrity and ability of the moderation team so many times that it would probably be bannable.

I'm not gonna name any names, but I personally know that there are quite a few people out there who've bought and still own duped mythics.

Olympic prices dropped by significantly more than half when they got duped. So did fantasia prices.

Olympic prices dropped because it's a mythic for pure fun and doesn't really do well for combat use. And spending 20+ stacks on a mythic that is outclassed seems like a waste.
Fanta prices dropped because it's hard to roll a good fanta, and it's a very difficult item to build around.
In both of these cases, demand is lower than supply. Yes, fanta was duplicated months back, but those are likely not in circulation currently. Same with Olympic. It's not as if they're still being duped now, or have been duped in recent weeks/months.

Neither of the mythic prices dropped naturally though. In most other mythics, we saw a gradual consistent decrease in their price. With fanta and olympic, their prices dropped suddenly and harshly. Maybe with fanta, it was due to a huge drop in demand, but with olympic there was and still is some demand (albeit not a huge demand). I talked to many people while the price drop was occurring, and several buyers who were undercutting, and they all seemed to say "I'm selling/buying my olympic/fanta for so cheap because it was duped." Olympic and fanta prices have yet to even remotely recover after the dupes, not to mention that Fanta was duped seemingly right after it was released and the prices kamikazed straight into the fucking ocean.
Yes, I agree that spending 20+ stacks on a mythic that just came out is a very stupid idea, but noone has the foresight to see a mythic getting duped and losing all its values the week it comes out.

Yes, I understand you put a lot of time into it, but also you bought mythics when their prices were insanely inflated.
Mythics are just now deflating to a somewhat reasonable price, and to be frank with you, I don't want other fucking people to have to put as much time into the game as I have.
My mythics are worth half the price they were when I bought them, but that doesn't mean I start bitching about how bad this is for me, because this is fantastic for the 95% of players without fucking mythics.

Oh wait but remember. Ichikaaa said that the economy deflated as a whole, so that 95% of the playerbase still can't afford mythics.

You should get 91 LE from all quests 1 character unless I added something very very wrong. Assuming you never touched the TM, thats a good way through to buying a mediocre mythic.
