This is a thread for all those to reminisce about old removed features no longer present within the Wynncraft community (mainly the game).

I wanted to hear all of your thoughts about all the old features you missed from Wynncraft. Swarms, old lobbies, even the GUI for the bank. With this, I hope to allow newer players to gain an insight into what the Wynn was like before and to invite older players to share their various experiences.

If you are interested in my own story, I have contained a segment of text for that considering how long it is. I hope that you guys are also willing to share, and I can't wait to see what is!

    --
As a previous player from 2013/14 (been so long I forgot), I find it so interesting to see how many features were removed. The old quests system, how we never had a jukebox or daily login benefits, how the level cap used to be 70, and so much more.

If I were to choose a highlight that shaped my experience here, it wasn't the main game, but when Wynn attempted to expand into more than an MMO RPG and open their first minigame: Wizard Fortress.

    Wizard Fortress
was a game that I cherished and had hours of gameplay on, although with it only having one map, it featured fast-paced gameplay and was similar to Quake in a sense. There was only one game mode, that being a team versus team Capture The Flag, and you were provided with a set of item spawners around the map which provided you with different wands (the weapons used against the enemy team) with each having different abilities. These abilities can be enhanced through upgrades during intermission periods with currency gained from playing.

Having played close to every day nonstop, I quickly rose to be one of the old Top 5, and have met many new friends, notably Chownick. While my position in the leaderboards is a good guess as to why this is my main memory of Wynncraft, it is actually due to me having been falsely banned for allegedly utilizing cheats. As a person who's played for that long and upgraded the wands to close to their maximum potential, and when there is a limited selection of one map, muscle memory and memorization of the maps are bound to happen and it becomes almost automatic to predict where people spawn. This was the reason why I got banned, as you can simply hop using jump pads around the map to the three entrances of the middle grounds, and probably looked like I had an ESP enabled. I wouldn't be surprised as when a new player joins, due to their being low player count and a lack of a barrier between those who are veterans and not, that it looked like I knew their exact position like a robot. Due to not possessing video recording of my own gameplay, as I see no reason to constantly need to videotape myself 24/7 every time I log onto a video game, I was unable to clear my ban and so was invalidated and I had to make a fake confession stating that I did use hacks when I never did. It's been 5 years now since that, so I'm not angry anymore, though my previous middle schooler self was probably quite upset.

Anywho, that was a fun minigame that I miss and wished that I could have apologized to people and told them the truth that I didn't hack, as I've likely burned some bridges with them thinking that my position on the leaderboard was a sham. I hope that served as some entertainment for you and can't wait to see what people share. Thanks for your time reading.

I kind of miss the old Missions. You know, the ones that told you to "Kill 20 Almuj Citizens in 5 minutes." I never did them, nor were they ever worth it, but I always chuckled when they would ask me to commit several counts of manslaughter

Life steal was broken though and there was no creativity, innovation, or variation in builds. Grant it the new system isn’t perfect, but it was definitely a step in the right direction and has gotten much better over the years.

Maybe it's the nostalgia speaking but I preferred the old system, now I feel like a Pokemon trainer with all these elements

    Seconded

my own answer is very specific - the pre-1.12 zombie dungeon. Nothing in wynncraft has ever replicated the intensity of that place.

Yeah, I liked the the elemental system the least, but it wasn’t just a simple elemental triangle like in Pokémon since each element corresponded to a specific skill point. Further unlike Pokémon, for most of the game mob elemental defenses don’t matter and elemental defense for players aren’t significant at all. Not too mention how powders create a trade-off for the types of damage you do and give unique abilities.

I 100% agree. No other dungeon, quest or area has ever measured up to it.

I logged on with an old account, one of my first ones, and found a bow and a stack of arrows in my inventory. I was able to shoot it as a warrior, and even have a drawing back animation. It unfortunately was removed from my inventory, likely from a glitch caused by moving it around my inventory. It was pretty cool though, although I feel like the current way bows works is also fine.

Haha, as an archer main and always have been since I began on Wynn, I can still remember the old and sometimes glitchy system. Especially when doing combos that involved RMB, it would sometimes charge and screw up your sprint leading you to be killed. I can understand why we don't have bow draws anymore since the new system uses resource packs which retexture the various blocks/items in the game, though it would be nice to see it again.

I believe it was either the Corkus update or Dungeons and discoveries. They have been replaced with secret discoveries.

If you've never found one yet, throw a bob tear into the fireplace in Ragni castle and see what happens.

When 1.20 comes out, I’ll miss the simplicity of some towns. When the Gameplay Update came out, they started this tradition of revamping at least one city/town per update. Some, like Troms and Detlas, were understandable because they were supposed to be rich, strong cities, and others like Ragni were only small revamps. Now, I think they’re getting carried away with the revamps. Take a look at the screenshot of new Maltic in the first 1.20 blog; It technically looks better, but it also looks way too much like Detlas. Adding smaller, less-sophisticated towns added atmosphere and flavor to the world. I’m really not a fan of homogenizing the towns. It doesn’t end there either. Whether the new town in the August blog is Elkurn or Bucie or whatever, it looks way too fancy and affluent to be a small village.

Whats upsetting is I know they can make the current maltic style look good, because there is a single new house in the village.
Same shatty roofs and crappy coblestone walls, but cleaner feeling.

That being said, I want to pass judgement yet.

certainly this. One of my earliest memories of Wynn was rushing into those things and hoping to god that I got what I went in for and was able to make it out. Don't know why they got rid of them, they could have co-existed with the discoveries
