Mana Regen Or Mana Steal?

generally, i'd say
archer-regen
mage-either
shaman-regen
assassin-steal
warrior-regen

there are obviously exceptions to all of these, this judgment is mainly from the auto attack interactions on each class, along with spell synergy

archer has finicky auto attacks, and can miss from long range
mage has the best fucking auto so it doesn't really matter which way you go
shaman has 1/3 proc chance on stealing per beam, so it's generally hard to get consistent sustain
assassin has vanish, which cancels mana regen, but the hit you get on vanish exit can proc steal
warrior spells knock the target away, which makes consistent melee a little bit painful, although uppercancelling is nice

 

I like mana regen better, but mana steal is pretty good for guild wars since you're pretty much hitting mobs 24/7.

 

Mana Regen is much better, but usually takes more intelligence. Mana steal on the other hand is much easier to fit in a build that doesn’t have 80+ intelligence. I often find ms useful in swarm type situations, so it’s nice in EO. I just had a staccato and an unspeakable, and i never ran out of mana

 

don't mind my previous post, mana steel is better because you can use it with morph steel

 

Niche TFA hybrid shaman exists (its slayer+silver sound for me, if you were wondering), and it works alright with a mix of mana steal and ms, the real trick to being able to proc ms might be the 90 def 90 agi :)

You can sit in their face, melee, get a decent stream of mana, and aura/uproot for wider aoe and utility

(also tfw 0 int warrior uses mana regen over mana steal -- what's this atlas thing? never heard of 'im)

yeah, most (e)tfa builds rely on mana steal, unless they use brainwash for mixed mana

Mana steal only works if u left click. The perks of mana steal is that u can do dmg while gaining mana and u probably get more mana that you would with mana regen. But if u dont left click, like in a duel or smth you cant rly left click an archdr because they too fast, then mana regen is cool because you arent reliant on doing meelee dmg. Mana steal is cool for pve because meeleeing movs is easy and they dont move with 5 million ws

 

Both. Mana steal and mana regen can have offset timing in relation to one and other, so if youre in a dire situation and the timers still running for mana regen, you can punch for a chance to regain some mana instantly.

Mana Regen is better if you need a reliable source of mana even when not fighting swarms of mobs, and Mana Steal is better when grinding, doing dungeons, etc.
