Discussion: Best Pve Class

Really depends on criteria.

Shaman has the easiest campaign when it gets Aura. Turns out shutting down whole arenas is pretty good for getting through a game which has 90% melee mobs. Also, totem can block projectiles.
In terms of boss-killing, Assassin takes the gold medal. Nighthawk's getting nerfed, which means Assassin does the most DPS in the game now, not to mention that Vanish is the best escape-tool in the game.

 

Obviously warrior

(But seriously, shaman for crowds, assassin for bosses)

Personally I think mage is better for leveling, but it's pretty close.

 

For me I just liked shaman the most, it's fun

 

For me, shaman was easiest and funnest to level up, but warrior continues to be the class I have the most fun as (granted I don't have a high level archer or assassin yet)

 

Probably shaman until lategame, than I'm not entirely sure. The first time I had trouble was when I got to Psychomancer, who can oneshot me because Psychomancer is awf- is a wonderfully designed and fun boss. Even then that was largely because I was using level 60-70 gear at that point because nothing came close to posing a threat.

Endgame, I think mage or archer might be slightly better, because mage can deal with burst damage a bit more and archer is probably the best at avoiding damage altogether. Assassin is best at shredding stuff, but it does have the downside of being close-ranged and so I feel like that puts it just slightly below mage or archer. Warrior... Well...

Warrior is warrior.

 

In terms of fun: Assassin and Mage
In terms of power: Archer and Shaman, though Archer is a lot more situational
Shaman tears down anything in a 15 blocks radius easily while healing and being relatively far away and Archer can camp you very easily if the stage is big enough (I'm not joking, I have beaten LI with my archer multiple times just by camping from the other side of the stage, it really is easy to camp with archer, the issue is that it is not fun at all)
Assassin is really fun but not that good, then there is Mage who is good but struggles in small rooms as far as I've been able to experience (I was doing very well in LI until Cybel and Death happened, I did manage to clutch Death but Cybel just tore me apart because I couldn't keep him at bay)

Warrior used to be fun, now I feel its movement spell is really, REALLY bad (though that is because it is, bad travel distance and cannot go vertically) and if something has bad movement, it is bad

 

But...but tank

(also I would like to add, warrior is very capable of soloing LI and EO, my warrior can face tank everything but Doctor Legendary (I can even face tank the Eye), and still do great damage. It’s passive damage reduction also usually gives it much much more EHP than comparable builds in other classes)

 

5. Warrior: Tanking is nice but the spells work against each other
4. Assassin: The only balanced class in my opinion
3: Mage: Tank but you get meteor
2: Shaman: turns melee bosses into jokes and can destroy crowds
1. Archer: Arrow storm

 

Yeah, I just wanted to make sure my opinion of warrior was heard, lol

And sounds great xD (I have a couple builds, the spell ones are very gimmicky though, lol)

 

Shaman is good for killing crowds
Mage is good for tanking, great spell dps as well, also you don't need potions
Assassin is a real good DPS, it also has enough agility
Archer is a good dps but you have to get good
Warrior is really good tank but very very shit spells and feeling

I'll say what many others have said: Shaman was designed around AOE, of course it's optimal for crowds and destroys them easily. However, Assassin simply shreds through bosses, killing bosses has never been so easy with Assassin, even better than Archer.

 

mhm i agree with that, but in some way the classes are comparable.
For example, if endgame warriors and assassins are using water weapons (sitis and tidebinder), even though the weapons themselves aren't comparable (sitis trades MR and HR for damage, while tidebinder doesn't offers much damage but more int and mana regen), you would like to use assassin because vanish + smoke bomb deals a lot of damage EVEN WITHOUT MUCH DAMAGE IDs, when warrior doesn't seem to have a spammable spell for water builds.
You would also want warrior/assassin for melee rather than mage/archer since the formers could be more tanky for melee and have better melee weapons when compared to the latter.

(welp maybe idk what am i saying but well)

assassin's vanish turns off enemy aggression and gives you more speed than archer, when archer cannot do that and not as tank as assassin.
