Mage/Dark Wizard Help Best Type Of Build

What is the best type of a build for mage?
Tank w/ lot of HP or
focusing on spell damage and mana reg?

 

up to you.
just a personal preference.

 

If you're not that experienced or sucks at dodging like me, having defense is nicer.

You don't wanna get one shot by every boss, do you?

 

The thing is really if I base my build on mana and spell damage, I get one shot killed by every boss, otherwise if I'll use tank I cannot kill bosses at all...
Do you have any advice to how to balance between two builds?

 

you could use tanky builds with decent damage like these

or use whatever spellspam build you want and drink skill point pots (defense and agility) and health pots (if your heal isnt good enough) if you're doing something like legendary island so you won't have to worry too much about dying

you could also go for cancelstack or heavy melee if you want

 

I just made build w/ 12/4s mana reg and 3/4 mana steal w/ 10500 hp (115 intelligence and 45 agility) is that good for going through Legendary island boss fights??

 

health could be a problem depending on how good you are at dodging.
also i don't know what your damages are.

 

I would say that I am good/very good at dodging, my meteor spell is around 2000 and 4000 hp (neutral+elemental damage) (can spam 8-9 meteor spells in a row)

 

Ur meteor damage is 2000-4000 according to wynndata? Also dont spam meteors in a row it doesnt work

 

Mage spell cycle:
Meteor-ice snake or heal-repeat

(unless you’re using pure)

 

Don't use the compass menu, it's wrong. Use wynndata for damage calcs! You want >10k meteors (at the very least, aim for more than 10k)

 

For context, very tanky mage builds get atleast 14k meteor damage

 

What do you mean it does not work?

 

i think they mean don't spam it as fast as you can, because then the meteors cancel each other out and then you end up dealing no damage.

instead, wait for the meteor to fall and hit the target (and maybe slip an ice snake in there for the sake of spell cycling) before casting another meteor

 

I know that, and I know how to time it perfectly to deal damage

 

They mean that the compass menu is wrong. It doesn’t show you the true numbers.
