Mage/Dark Wizard Help Time Rift Mage

My friend is really bad at builds and can’t post on the forums yet (@mada905).

He wants a time rift spell spam build (this is what he’s got so far https://wynndata.tk/s/t537hs)

Improvements to the build or suggestions of different time rift builds would be greatly appreciated.

 

Im sure this build can be improved, but just so you know it’s not a bad build

16.5k meteors is pretty good for mage, and with that intel/mana sustain you’re never going to run out of mana unless you cast spells ridiculously quickly. (In my experience with that intel mage only needs 7mr)
And with up to 95 defensive sp along with time rift heals you prolly won’t die too easily.

The only thing that’d concern me is the health.

Also, if I were you I’d use Morro instead of Nepta if you have a good virtuoso and time rift. Makes you tankier and doesn’t reduce damage too bad

Anyway, I agree with the poster above in that it's not a bad build. My main concern is the (large) negative mana steal. In and of itself it wouldn't be a big issue, but you end up at Super Slow and you're using Time Rift, meaning accidental melee attacks will happen. As a result, you may end up losing quite some mana like this.

Other than that, I suggest using Intensity instead of Yang.

 

You could solve the attack speed problem by replacing aphotic with ornate shadow, though that reduces your damage a bit (while raising your health), or even nighthawk if you really don’t want to sacrifice damage.

(take my advice with a grain of salt though, I’m not a very good class builder)

 

Ehhhhh usually the most common replacement for aphotic, especially on mage since -hpr does not matter would be sizzling shawl and not ornate shadow.

Most likely not optimized but doesn't have the Super slow atk speed problem, and you have 1 Mana meteors so you're definitely good mana-wise. https://wynndata.tk/s/7h4oz6

 

Just a fair warning, though, Time rift can be pretty janky and will get you killed in situations where you would have lived otherwise. I’d honestly build more defensively with it; since you effectively have a pseudo 40% damage boost with it, damage isn’t really too much of an issue

The negative mana steal is a problem and if the attack speed is increased the problem is accentuated.

 

Actually higher attack speed will give you lower chance of mana steal happening per melee attack. Which is desirable since with this build you shouldn’t be intentionally meleeing.

That’s not being bad at builds, that’s being inexperienced, as I said before, the original build is not a bad build.
