I'm probably not the first person to think this but i haven't seen this theory before.
To start, we know Bob is not human because in the "Hero's Origin" secret discovery we learn that his mother did not come from Wynn, and it is unlikely she is Fruman.
Second is Bob's skin tone. In the Wynn plains ultimate discovery we get to see Bob, and his skin is grey! This means for sure that he is not human, but more importantly, in Lutho we meet humans that have been living near Dern, and they have grey skin.
"But if they both have grey skin that means Bob's mother might just come from Lutho!" I hear you typing, but take a closer look, Lutho's citizens look dead, and decaying, while Bob looks full of life. Now we have never seen anyone from Dern, but I would guess that a race that has evolved in place like Dern would look a lot more lively than a group that has only relatively recently started living there.
The final part of this theory is saying that it is very likely Bob is only half Dernic as we have yet to hear anything of his father, but it is unlikely that Bob's mother would get pregnant and immediately move to a province at war, so she likely got pregnant in Wynn.

i think he is half-olmic. he has lived for far longer than any humans, especially at the time. however, he doesn’t have the time manipulation powers that olms like old man martyn have. his mother was very likely human, but what of his father?

I personally think that "Old Man Martin" was Bob's father...
It would also prove why he has letters from Bob (Reference to the quest "Deja Vu" here)

Personally I believe in the the theory that Martin is Nelrim, and is therefore a friend/successor of Bob, but that could also work, although it does not explain why Bob has grey skin

Bob's mother is unlikely to be human because we know she is not from Wynn, it is unlikely she is Fruman due to the fact that during this time Fruma's borders were closed, and as far as I know these are the only human races in Wynncraft. Also I may be misremembering but i think there was a line from someone in Lutho about how they have lived much longer than normal humans

On the last point, I quite disagree.

There are people who have more characteristics of their father or mother than of both.
E.G. Father has black hair, Mother has blond, Or in this case it's skin,
Father is tan, Mother is very pale.

Bob is not pale, he is grey, there is a massive difference, and aside from that, being pale or tan is not genetic, it is based of how much sun you get.

Oh, I thought I said Grey...
    Then I'm sorry for that.

The point is valid, but there are people who have naturally tan skin.
Arguments aside, The Idea is rather sound.

There still is the possibility though.

also there is a theory that Old Man from King's Recruit is Nirlem (according to MagmaMelon's theory called Pirate Exiles)

The original theory was about the Old Man at Ragni peninsula, though it's not certain are they the same person or not

Uhhh I think I may have been misquoted here. My theory had nothing to do with King's Recruit.

okay, so here's the working theory

    - the olm escaped from dernel jungle, time valley, or the silent expanse
    - one of them is a woman and went to the ragni sewers to hide from the big boy's influence, which he spreading through Bak'al (in other words, she was hiding from the corruption wars)
    - she was either already pregnant or smashed a human man and waited 9 months (unlikely, unless ragni was under attack for 9 months?) either way she was pregnant
    - she gave birth in the ragni sewers to Robert
    - she die
    - bob got adopted

    the end

why I don't believe this is true: the olm are described as an ancient people. why would they exist, along with humans, no less, only liiiike 200 years ago?
why I believe this is true: ok bob lived to be pretty old, as far as I can tell. he may have died at 72 but I don't know. he is very powerful for a human. and his skin is grey

    you're welcome

if you did point of no return then you should know this - the miners got trapped in the silent expanse, made a city around this brainwashing soul-stealing obelisk, and lived as husks of humans in the real world, while in "happy lutho" as it is called, they lived like anyone would in Wynn. the obelisk is shown to force you to make a choice to keep living in this happy fantasy, or to return to the grim reality.
lutho residents are humans, I doubt anyone would say that bob's parents are from lutho, though I wouldn't discount it entirely
we definitely have not seen any dernic residents, but we have seen people from the now-silent expanse, the olm, right? and we know the olm were massacred by big boy dern man? perhaps that's why his biological mother fled. it's also possible that yes, she fucked a human while already in dern. that's entirely possible

    so yeah ok that's it

We know that the only part of the Lutho citizens appearance that is affected by the obelisk is there eyes because the person you talk to to start the point of no return looks like every other citizen, except she has eyes

You really can extract much more from that quest (and from the area in general) if you make assumptions and educated guesses. Though it's entirely possible that Bob's mother was an escaped Lutho citizen, it wouldn't explain how he's so powerful and lived so long.

Also, if you've had a biology class before, you will know that acquired traits aren't passed down genetically. Only things in your DNA will be passed down to your offspring. I would say that the Lutho citizens skin turning grey is an acquired trait, from the environment they lived in. Keep in mind these citizens were just miners at one point. The obelisk is the thing keeping them alive in a harsh wasteland, it's not like the miners evolved over time to be accustomed to the Silent Expanse.

We know nothing of Olm lifespan. Like Doguns, they may live for hundreds, if not thousands of years

waid a minute ok this makes sense because maybe the olm did in fact exist 1k years ago and then they were ALL killed except for that one and then......ok wait this leads me to my next question

if we don't know about olm lifespan, do we know about olm reproduction time? they are quite similar to humans but do we know it's 9 months? maybe the olmic woman was pregnant for HUNDREDS of years to birth bob

jk, but yeah, the olmic woman fucking a human guy to create bob theory is making a little bit more sense to me now

Yeah because Bob lived for much longer than humans, but not for as long as the assumed Olm lifespan

This is assuming Bob really died a mortal. If Nilrem's letters are anything to go by, he might still be alive (which is highly unlikely), trapped in Dern (Realm of Dark? A place in Realm of Dark?) for all we know.

He was 27-28 when the Invasion of Ragni happened in 881 AP, by Bak'al's forces. Assuming he really did fake his death so they could have a body to bury, he could very well be 146-147 years old.
