Its Super Dark For Me?

I've recently started playing again after a while and I don't remember it being this dark, if I'm not in a town or on a path it's almost pitch black to the point that I can't see anything. I tried putting my gamma to 100 and that changed nothing even though it would normally eliminate darkness, I found another thread and the dude said he fixed it but didn't say how? Any help is appreciated.

I am using optifine and I'm on 1.16.1.
