problem from here is upcoming hawkeye nerf

as well as the fact that nighthawk is outclassed statwise by almost every other standard helmet alternative in the game. it's amazing imo but 3x dps is an exaggeration, on top of its decline once hawkeye gets rebalanced.

i've heard a convincing argument that it's the worst dodge in the game bc of its poor synergy with aura. you pull mobs to your totem in order to damage them… then propel yourself to it as well in order to "dodge" attacks…

every class is able to freely control the direction of their movement spell, which makes their dodges more consistent than shaman's.

If you jump and haul you can dodge all the mobs trapped in aura. Plus getting damaged from mobs stuck in aura doesn't really happen that often, and even when it does you can heal with your totem or a potion. In addition, I have thought it over and Mage is the best dodge by far. Shamans is only a little bit better than Warriors and archers dodge.

Warrior sucks endgame sadly unless you build exclusively melee, though spell warrior is admittedly one of the most fun playstyles in the game even if it isn't that great. Pretty mediocre for a beginner, as damage won't always be the best for early game.

Mage makes the entire game easy generally and is recommended for newer players due to good sustain and good enough damage. Teleport is also probably the best movement spell in the game, so it has that going for it.

Shaman is a very beginner friendly class once you understand what you're doing with it simply because aura invalidates most of the game alone. It has heals and very good damage, plus a decently fun mobility spell to mess with. Worth a try definitely in my opinion.

Assassin is very strong early game as spin attack hits insanely hard, however late game to keep pace with archer and shaman damage you'll need to have a better understanding on combos and how the class works to use it well. It's fun, but you have to put in a lot more effort compared to other classes generally unless you're playing heavy melee, but fuck heavy melee it's boring ok

Archer is probably the strongest class in the game overall, and pretty beginner friendly due to its ability to sit back safely and dish out respectable damage. Once you get closer though, it's damage skyrockets in exchange for the risk being taken by being near your enemies. It's my personal favorite and a very rewarding class to get good at, and never really struggles at any point in the game.

Whatever you pick, just enjoy messing around and having fun, ignore the rest until you're at max level and then try out that stuff
