    Maer sighs and seems to resign/compose herself. She doesnt like anything thats going on here, the lack of information irks her, among other things. Luckily there are 4 others to protect(?) her as she looks into things. It's not like they can do anything if she bails, right?

    They're back, but moving cautiously and giving the spike a wide berth. The townfolk sort of clap a bit when they see you but they are too frightened of the spike to do much else
