Is Mage Weaker Than Most Of The Other Classes, Or Am I Playing It Wrong?

Mage plays more of like a combat medic or a cockroach. Its DPS is the lowest in the game by FAR, but you can spam heal and stop bosses mid charge using Ice snake. Teleport is also the fastest spell in the game, which allows for insanely quick dodges and getting around the arena easily. Overall, though its potential as a damage dealer is capped by that 1/3 division, its potential as an immortal cockroach is not limited at all.

 

Mage has low dps but it has an insanely overpowered spell in Heal. It can turn the mage and other players into tanks. You should definitely abuse it.

 

Mage is pretty weak at low levels but it becomes one of the stonges classes in the end game. And lets be real... most people hate to carry and buy potions. So thats why its the best class in my eyes... not too easy but strong at the end and potions are useless

 

I don't hate carrying potions. I buy tons of that stuff and chug it like its cherry soda. It gives me the healing of mage on archer.

 

And potions don't burn through your mana

I honestly just like having lots of attack spells

 

Why would you want to carry around potions that take up space when you lootrun/fight bosses when you could just refill your hp FOR FREE with heal?

Because I like archer more? Archer has way more damage, insane range, and the ability to deal with crowds insanely fast by using bomb arrow. And with potions, mage's one defining point becomes moot.

 

I thought warrior was the worst

 

Mage is great. Personally, I don't really care or mind that the meteors take some time to fall because it feels reaaally satisfying to hit meteors, and teleport + heal makes you essentially invincible if you play your cards right. You won't get the same amount of insane game-breaking damage on Mage that you get on other classes [except warrior], but for me at least, Mage was the most fun class to level up and play around with end-game, which is why I have more hours on it than I do on all of my other 100s combined

Sorry I said it wrong. Every class has 20 Mana Points, but every class has other "secret" stats (f.ex. Warrior has 120% defense, Mage has 80% defense, ...).
And one of Mage's "secret" Stats are 5/4 Mana Regen. That means that mage regenerates his mana faster than any other class and has more mana during a battle.

Just buy a Pure. Meteors will fall significantly faster and you'll do much more dmg with a good build (also in the endgame)

Yes warrior is the worst in endgame but until around level 66 (when you start to reach the late-game) warrior is pretty good. the base defense helps a lot and normal mobs aren't all that threatening.

 

I thought this was what the "spell" label meant as well, but it doesn't. Every class has a natural mana regeneration of roughly one mana every .8 seconds, equaling to the 5/4s natural mr you had stated. It can be hard to see this visually, but it is there.

No, it doesnt become moot. Mage can heal much faster than health potions can, when you're fighting a boss and you're getting hit extremely fast and taking huge amounts of damage, guess who doesn't care at all? Mage, because you can heal extremely fast, much faster than health potions that take 3 seconds to fully heal. Mage can become almost invincible, unkillable by anything. Oh, the Eye's wretches exploded, taking away 90% of your hp? If you aren't a Mage, the Gazers will shred you since they do very high damage. With Mage , you can just heal back up to full, no biggie. Also, teleport is very powerful. It's instant, can't be stopped (except for that awful "Too close to block" message), and can get you out of incoming attacks or spells very quickly, hence why Mages often teleport every few seconds during a boss, to avoid spellspam coming in or such.

On any of my playthroughs weren't problem not healing up but not getting hit

 

I think you’ve misunderstood that number; the 5/4 mana regen is the base mana regen of every class. It’s the one mana tick we get passively every .8 seconds. Mage doesn’t have any special bonus to mana regen.
