Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Of course." Temporus says sincerely, though something about his attitude seeming almost rebellious.

 

“Petunia, dear, revoke his memories of the communal discussion. Let’s save it for a properly realigned alpha that matters, and only that version of him will need it. I have to try to speak sense into my sister... again.”
“Yes, mother,” Petunia nods, Temporus’ memories of the five minute convention beginning to fade, “Good luck, again. Hopefully mister Temporus here is still around by then.”
“He will be, be it as a god or as a mortal. Don’t worry about him.”

The omnipresence seems to leave.

 

Temporus keeps smiling, even as his memories fade, his presence now seeming a little unsettling.

 

Petunia holds up Temporus’ Watch of True Time before tossing it back to him.
“You really do need to keep a better eye on this,” she sighs.

 

"That's an outdated trinket, now," Temporus says, the pocketwatch disappearing from sight once in his hands, "If such an item can be considered 'outdated'."

 

“If it was from this timeline, yes, but you seem to have already managed to fail to keep it out of that shadow’s hands in the new alpha. Do at least try to make good of your word, would you?”

 

"It's already been disabled in the new alpha, though I suppose that's rather easy to miss," Temporus says happily, "The most it can do is tell the time like any other pocket watch, the only difference being that it needn't be wound."

 

"Consider this repayment for your efforts, but don't forget that it can be erased if you let yourself become ungrateful," Petunia sighs.

 

"Of course, such is the fine line I tread in the near-eternal march toward the end of time." Temporus says.

 

"Final warning - if you thought Ihra was a handful, you'll be having quite a few more headaches in the future. Just wanted to make sure we got that established that."

 

"I'm sure I'll be able to handle it." Temporus says casually.

 

"It? I'm standing around annihilating the shit that's trying to make your job harder and you're gonna treat me like an object?!" Iris shouts, clearly irked.
"I look forward to watching you try," Petunia chuckles.

 

"She's little more than a petulant child. I had a harder time containing Praecantatia after she discovered the full range of her powers." Temporus explains.

 

"Give me one good reason not to open a rift on your face right now," Iris growls.
"Those last between timelines, could you hold off?" Petunia asks, seeming a bit concerned.

 

Temporus allows himself to laugh a little, amused by Iris' anger.

"You do remind me a lot of her, though." Temporus comments.

 

“I’m sure she’d be equally as thrilled to hear those words,” Petunia chuckles.

Iris just narrows her eyes.

 

"Perhaps I could bring Praecantatia here, at least you'd have someone to mentor you on how to behave from personal experience." Temporus says, amused.

 

“I’ve always wanted to see firsthand what would happen if magic disappeared from this reality... I suppose that’d be a worthy tradeoff,” Iris ponders.

 

Temporus can't hold back his laughter.

"You are her!" Temporus says after his laughing fit, seeming to have exhausted himself slightly. At this point, it appears all of Iris' threats can't be taken seriously.

 

“Did you break him?” Iris asks Petunia.
“Uhm... maybe? Here, let’s see...”
Petunia slaps Temporus in the face, eyeing him curiously afterwards.
