Media Old Wynncraft Memories, Anyone?

Hey y'all, it's been probably a good five or six years since I was really active on Wynncraft. I know everythings completely changed since then, especially the community. I don't expect many people from the early times of Wynncraft (2013-2015) to be here, let alone those who remember me.

As of late, I've been thinking about my time here. Those were some really great times yo. I'm not going to go over what my opinion on the game is today, but I will say that back in say 2014 times were great.

So that leads me to the point, anyone got good old memories of the old Wynncraft? Whatever that may be, such as screenshots, stories, important updates like 1.12, anything really. Would love to hear it! inb4 ok boomer

I joined just before the mob update, and it was incredible me and some friends would play on here all the time but we didn't do quests or anything cause we didn't know what we were doing but just play games and explore and it was great !

 

I died at level 54 with 2 soul points left and lost all my stuff, then quit the game for like a year.

 

I lost my spear atop the Saints Row Cathedral. I walked off, and I was unable to get back up because I couldn't charge anymore. Bought a terrible replacement in Nesaak, and later found the spear I had lost back in a chest on the Almuj wall. Those few days were fun.

 

I’ve been playing since about a month before the mob update, and I have so many memories from the time pre-gavel. Whether it be groups doing Troms runs, (where a big group gets together to take players safely to Troms through the great bridge), or grinding in the Temple of Legenda endlessly for a Blue Mask, Adamantite, Crystal, and Stalagmites. But the best of all...”The Gavel Province isn’t ready for visitors...yet.”

 

For some dumb reason when they added the gavel gate I went there everyday to check if it's open or not and I would end up disappointed every time, this was going on for a couple months till they added gavel

Man, thinking back I never really died much. Though if I did, and lost all my stuff, I would probably just quit there and then. Can't blame you lol

I can definitely see the game being a bit confusing for brand new players lmao, I think they've done well making the game more welcoming to others.

Omg Almuj Wall... is that still a thing? Or did they remove that too?

TROMS RUNS!! I remember my first one, I was so scared of dying to some slimes in the Jungle... Man, the Jungle (and especially the Jungle Cave) was like my HOME dog fr. And I remember when those four were the best weapons in the game (besides the Bob weapons). Much simpler times

I remember the Gavel Gate. For some reason instead of taking a boat there, I would travel via the coastline all the way to Gavel. I guess the Ocean back then kind of scared me due to the mobs around.

 

Troms runs were the best. It's so funny to look back on those and realize there's nothing in the game even remotely like that now. Those bridge magma cubes were so frightening. I remember armor skins didn't work for me, so level 21 players would constantly challenge me to duels near if I was near Ragni, because they thought I was a new player, and wanted to flex their new damage spell and then I'd let the thorns on my armor kill them. I miss the old days.

 

I remembered being a real idiot, I was soo used to travelling to ocean with spells I spammed them, instead of using the Seaskipper. And when I wanted to travel around, I used spells/horses because I also insisted on not buying scrolls because I thought it would waste my time to buy them, which obviously caused me to waste time travelling...

 

I remember! The first legendary I found was an ancient wand.
I remember always reading about the pregavel community events on the forums because timezones and I was pretty low level

 

I joined back in 2016 and played a lot with my friend. We became more and more inactive as time went on. I quickly became a higher level than him. I was about level 63 when I got bored of grinding and went on hiatus for a LONG time. One day last year, I decided to come back to see how the server was doing and started playing again. My friend also returned for a couple of times and now he's in his level 40s. I leveled up by over 30 levels within a couple of months and we learned about 1.19 being on the way.

 

Back before Gavel came out me and my friend would scam people with rare potatos, and one time my friend scammed someone and got two stacks of LE for a Rare Potato, and then he gave me some of the money

Scamming with Rare Potatos is a lost artform

 

Messing around with new players in Ragni and Detlas was so fun lol

I was so thankful when i both got a chestnut horse and got scrolls. Those two things have saved TIME.

I remember playing with a bunch of people from Australia and New Zealand late at night. One of the few perks of being on the West Coast!

Really similar story here. I joined because my friend introduced me to Wynncraft, and I managed to get a higher level than him. Eventually, I was like level 64 and he was only level 26 over a span of few months. For some reason I was really lazy and didn't want to grind much (plus grinding was harder back then) so I stayed at that level range for so long. I only got to level 75 like a year ago, except now the limit is 100 lol

I met a duper late 2014 in the Temple of Legends. I didn't know he was a duper then, but after word got around I knew. He gave me two stacks of LE (which was a lot back in the day), a white horse, a set of the best gear in the game at the time, the second-to-best spear at the time, and a stack of each type of old powder.

After word got around, I was told to dispose of the duped items into a loot chest, to be forever forgotten. It was hard to let go of such good items, but it was the right thing to do.
Time passed and I eventually met the duper again after he got unbanned. I don't remember exactly what he told me, but it was still super interesting to see him again after he got banned for duping.

Those were just some of my memories from old Wynncraft. Good times!

 

I remembered the old busted life and mana steal where it would proc on every hit, including spells, which made archer's arrow storm and assassin's multihit super op as it would completely fill mana and life.

But fighting the superbosses (Bob's Reincarnation, Corrupter of Worlds, Death) were still super tough cuz multihit and charge basically one shots if you are not careful. Most of my pre-gavel memories probably stems from Guild Wars though, since it is what I did most after hitting Level 75.

I remember how Iron Golem pet was VIP exclusive and I'm pretty sure pets could attack mobs which led to Iron Golem afk farming.
