Why does mob xp scaling exist. What I mean is that for lvls like lvl 35, if you kill Lunatic Devotees on Half Moon Island, you expect 100-200 xp (This is without xp gear + weapon + set), but at lvl 75+ I believe if you go there, the mobs give 0 xp. This is just a question that's been in my head for a bit as I don't exactly see a reason why it exists. Is it just supposed to drive you away from places not at your level, or is there another reason as to why this exists? I can understand why it exists for diff leveled players in parties, as as you earn more xp on higher lvls, you would be able to abuse xp to make a player lvl up extremely fast (If like a 20+ lvl difference then that would be my definition of extremely fast lol), and there's a system where you can't do this.

They don't want you killing super high level mobs for easy leveling. It encourages farming mobs around your level, which are the ones most suited to you- they deal the most reasonable damage and have the most reasonable health as a general rule to your level.
Also, the exact scaling, if I remember correctly, is a drop-off of 3% xp per level either way (higher or lower)

    so,

according to the level 1-106 leveling guide (which xp might be outdated, but it's close enough for the purpose of these calculations)

    upload_2020-7-5_21-35-2.png

each normal mob kill in demon cave is 1954-2584 xp (how you're going to get there, i'm assuming lots of high level carrying and running). let's assume a higher level stacks this scroll onto you, max 48% xp bonus roll.

    now.

according to this thread, you need 110 xp to go from level 1 --> 2, then 190 to go from level 2 --> 3,.,.,.,,
    oh no.
you know where i'm going with this.

assuming you get the average XP (2269) from killing a normal mob (possible from higher levels stacking scrolls like hell on you), and it's 48% xp bonus, it'll be about 3358 XP points.

    now.

the total XP required to level up from level 1 --> 9 is 3840 xp. (110+190+275+385+505+645+790+940)

from killing one, normal mob in demon cave, you have now leveled up from level 1 to halfway through level 8.
this isn't even considering XP bonus on gear, like rarity,..,..,., and KILL A FEW MORE MOBS., ,. ., ,. ,.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

so this is why mob XP scales with level. having mob XP be static is just way too fucking abusable. Not just that, but trying to prevent it without making mob XP not be static is way too hard and not worth the time.
