What Is Your Favourite And Least Favourite Pokemon Game?

please do not have a flame war over gen 5 and gen 1 in the comments please and thank you

Since this subforum may be the most dead forum of them all, I'll try and make it slightly less dead by making this thread. Most people come to this forum to talk about wynncraft which is why this subforum is this way, so I understand why it's dead.

Anyway, what's your favourite pokemon game and what's your least favourite? you can't comment on a game you've never played, only ones you have.

My favourite is sword and shield. These games are overhated due to the removal of 400 pokemon, but you have to understand that a lot of people have games like breath of the wild on their switch that may lag the console. All 901 pokemon would just make the lag worse. Plus, what would be new in the DLC if not every pokemon was included? I enjoy these games as they have great graphics, rather easy although some trainers may pose a threat, the dynamax phenomenon is great, the story is interesting, it's a good game.

My least favourite is X and Y. These game are awful. The region is boring, lots of mysteries were just left to rot, the legendaries suck, only the generation 1 legendaries were obtainable ( in the game, not counting gen 6 legendaries), only 3 new legendaries were introduced, 2 out of the 3 mythicals were garbage, it had data for areas to catch said mythicals but they were lazy and just gave them out via event distribution, mega evolution was barely expanded on, the story was terrible and boring, all the new pokemon introduced were horrible (except greninja maybe but hes overrated) and there was lots of wasted potential.

 

I actually didn't really play that much of the main series pokemon games that much (Only played Pearl & ORAS), but I must say, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers and Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon are the two Pokemon spinoff games that I really liked the most. Iconic Soundtrack. 10/10. Story is also super good. 10/10. (Unbiased) For gameplay, likely a bit repetitive when you grind through super easy - moderate dungeons, but then the tougher challenges are actually tough. Plowed through SPMD like it's cake since the main game was pretty easy, especially when you recruit some crazy overpowered pokemon.

There was a new PMD remake on Switch recently for Rescue Team. Initially was thinking about getting it, but then realized I may as well get Animal Crossing instead because I have heard so many good things about it. Hence, although Rescue Team was actually one of the better Mystery Dungeons, I felt like it wasn't that valuable, since PMD gets super boring after the main game (and by my reasoning, not really worth $79.95). Main switch games are pretty expensive :/

 

I liked ORAS, Gen 3 is the best, and the Mystery Dungeon series is really good. Gen 7 and 8 are pretty good, but my first game was OR/AS, so I have more fond memories of gen 3/gen 7 that way.
Although, I do have around 9 legendaries in S/M

 

BW/B2W2 are the best in nearly every way. They have the best story, an actual hard mode, the best music and more.

XY and SwSh are tied for the worst, because of how ridiculously easy they are. They also have bad stories and bad postgames.

SWSH are bashed for not having little features and not having every pokemon, but there are in fact lots of little features and the not every pokemon thing doesn't bother me
