Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Temporus just sighs, his expression like that of a daycare worker at the end of their shift.

 

“Fine, be no fun. Just don’t forget the two other things, those are actually important.”

 

"Forgetting things is near impossible for me; other than the dark patches in my memory that appear from time to time." Temporus explains.

 

“We just discussed partial erasure,” Petunia yawns, “I wouldn’t call that near impossible.”

 

"And I mentioned my memory can have dark patches." Temporus says, sighing out of exhaustion.

 

“If it makes you feel any better, you’ll have a much bigger one soon enough,” Petunia shrugs, “I don’t know how much mom will let you remember.”

 

Temporus' mood seems to shift a little, taking on a calm, relaxed stance.

"It's out of my control at this point. I can only hope my revised self isn't changed too much." Temporus says almost wistfully.

 

“How about we play one more game before the last couple questions before the end?”

 

"And what would this game be?" Temporus asks.

 

"I... well, I kinda forgot. It really was a plot to try and get you to make better cake, and I kinda forgot the rest aside from cake," Petunia admits, rolling her eyes seemingly at herself.

 

"You seem an awful lot like Tenebrae and Lux's child." Temporus says; a snap of his fingers seeming to make an elaborate cake appear.

 

There's already a piece missing.
"That ignorant bastard was as bad as the Hive Master, don't even think about comparing me to him," Petunia pouts, "Third-dimension erasure on its own can't put down spawn of the fourth dimension, but idiot pissed off Mother with his insolence and got a one way ticket out of existence. At least sis isn't a waste of Mother's time..."

 

"Perhaps so, but you certainly seem to share in his desire to abuse your powers for self-satisfaction." Temporus comments.

 

“There’s a difference between stealing cake and opening unsealable rifts,” Petunia retorts, annoyed.

 

"You still warped time to steal the cake, though." Temporus corrects.

 

“Why would I go through that trouble? Chronomancy is hard.”

 

Temporus waves his hand dismissively.

"Either way, you didn't follow the natural flow of time; nor did Crelucium." Temporus explains.

 

“You’re missing a key difference; he was born into a realm that obeyed time and could obey the flow of time - I am not, and can’t.”

 

"I've created items similar to you, actually. It's a difficult process, and seldom do the more complex ones last long. Praecantatia and I have found some interesting information from our research into it." Temporus says, taking a small gold key from his pocket. It seems to have a bit of a green shine to it.

"This will persist through all manipulation of time. Reversal or pause, or even stepping into the future," Temporus explains, "I'd be interested to see what influence you have over it, for the short time such memories can exist."

 

Petunia looks at it, then shakes her head.
“It was made with timebound circumvention, but it is still timebound. I can’t do anything you’d hope I be able to do with it. I can tell you it ceases to exist where time has never been, though.”
