as I said, even standing near the lava is enough to burn you to dust.

Bucie is a fine town, and it isn't even that high. It's in C tier. And yes, Olux is shit.

I know that Ragni has a "functional" sewer system, detlas seems to have one as well. That alone is worth some points since the other cities will smell like actual death without one.

How many times do I have to say that even standing near lava may be enough to burn you to ash, and if not, you will die to dehydration

A research from the Oregon State University got a "safe" distance of 200-400 meters, below which heat was felt through the windows of an helicopter.
Rodoroc citizens live about 15-20 meters away from lava while in the city. Take your conclusions.

In general, Minecraft lava is incredibly unrealistic, since you can't even distinguish its lava flow, or at least what lava flow it is meant to resemble, since it could be an a'a flow, the one you recently stated in your study with a "safe" distance of 200-400 meters, or a pahoehoe flow, characterised to be the most approachable lava. (I know that pahoehoe usually has a higher temperature than a'a, but I didn't find any articles that would state its heat radiation capability).
Another aspect we may have forgotten is ventilation. I doubt that contruction masters dwarves couldn't make ventilation systems, let alone the fact that doubtfully wind can blow in an underground city, and since wind carries most of the heat from the lava around, it may not be as bad to live there as we think.
Either way, I think neither of us should jump to any conclusions, since we certainly don't have all the required information, and that I really doubt any of us here really are scientists.

We're talking about realistic lava now in this conversation. Like, "What if Rodoroc was an actual city?" style lava.

    but ok

    That's not the point.
There are many different types of lava. I assumed it's an a'a flow since a pahoehoe flow does usually solidify pretty quickly on its surface, while Rodoroc's lava at least looks liquid.

As I said, I assumed it's an a'a flow because of its liquid appearance.

About ventilation, I just went to check ingame and there seem not to be ways for the heat to leave the cave Rodoroc is built into except the main entrance. Also, while wind is undoubtfully the main carrier of heat, the absence of a wind flow lets the heat stagnate in the cave, actually making it slower to absorb the heat.

Zhight has a different money system from the rest of the world.
I'm not sure whether they've got a stronger currency than emeralds or not (I'm not an economist xd) but this would probably the main point of evaluation, since being the only place with a certain currency, and it being weaker than the worldwide currency would probably be a disaster.

It does, indeed, especially considering there are a few places in which lava flows from the ceiling, so it is indeed most likely a'a. Still, we don't know about the heat radiation.
Not all ventilation vents are large, some are quite hard to see, so they most likely couldn't fit on blocks. On the other hand, small vents wouldn't allow as much air circulation, so I'm unsure.
If there is ventilation, there's no problem about heat stagnation.

I think we're speculating a little too much though, we haven't got exact information on the ventilation or the type of lava flow.

For what we can see with our bare eyes, it looks like an a'a with a pretty big lack of ventilation but yeah, that's only speculation because I'm fairly sure the builders didn't even think about liveability when they built the map LMAO

Is "Dogun Village" the dirt huts on top of Molten Heights or Courag? Are you ranking them as the same town?

Edit: Also Courag is the best town in the game and sould be ranked S+ so please add that thanks <3

I think the lore on one of the items from the lost sanctuary mentions that the houses in Elkurn are basically constantly rotting because of the hot air from the roots and the cold wet air from Nesaak, so that is a point against it.

I mean, if the ceiling is igneous rocks it might be porous

that said, are we not gonna talk about the socioeconomic situation in Rodoroc? I mean, there are literal slums there, and disturbing the public peace is usually quashed with prison time (A la DnD part 1). Not to mention it's a monarchy, which has historically not been the best living situation for the majority of people. Also, the fact that the shadow dude in AHC even considered it a possibility that the Rodoroc king would blow up the slums for his own sake is not a good sign.
