Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Silver nods, before turning to the group of demons as a whole.
"Get your stuff together, it's due time you're allowed to settle down." He says, telekinetically putting the belongings of those still trapped in hardlight on his back. "I don't know if you're used to living alone or in pairs, but that's a matter I'll let you lot settle on yourselves. Your rooms are meant for up to four."


The sprite only seems to care about the fluidity, and it emits a fine mist from its fins as it approaches each guardian. It's not clear what exactly the mist does, but it seems to just be water.

 

The demons start sorting themselves into groups of four, some arguing about who gets to share a room with certain demons, though sorting it out swiftly.


A few forest guardians with sharp hearing relay the information about groups to the others, and the guardians too begin forming groups; many sticking with members of their element, and most avoiding their opposing element. The only outliers to this grouping are the pairs playing the card games together, seeming to be part of a duo.

The water guardians smile as the sprite approaches them, many seeming to just want to relax in the cool water.

 

“You... do realize that up to four includes rooming on your own or in pairs... I hope?” Silver asks, seeming a bit confused.


After a bit, the sprite sheds a few glimmering scales and leaps back into its fountain.

 

This seems to click for the demons a moment later, a few succubi tackle-hugging their incubi partners at the idea of some private time between them.

Eventually the demons sort themselves out into their groups, many four-group demons and few singular demons.


A water guardian picks up a scale, curious about it's properties and interested by it's glimmering nature.

 

Silver telekinetically moves those to be sent back on his back, making sure to separate each from each other a bit.
“Please, stay out here just a bit longer. I need to escort these... rowdy few... back to Mortius.” Silver says, getting ready to leap skyward. “My advisors will be out to help you move in within a few minutes.”


The scale is relatively fragile, but it seems to be able to hold a fair bit of water (as it drains while they hold it). The less water is has, the more opaque it becomes and the brighter the surrounding light reflects off of it.

 

Noticing Silver's soon absence, a few of the more excitable succubi and incubi can't seem to stay away from each other. Meanwhile, the more powerful demons seem to assume command in Silver's place, starting to organise their lesser counterparts.


The water guardian keeps it in the water, not wanting to ruin the delicate beauty of the scale.

A few air guardians fly up to see what's happening on Silver, as well as a few earth and forest guardians; the earth guardians lifting themselves on chunks of the floor, and the forest guardians growing plantlife through it. No ill will seems to be present, however; merely curiosity.

 

An arachne with the body of a scorpion steps out into view, looking over the group of demons and guardians. Clipboard in hand, he taps at it rhythmically as he scans.
“You all came here on your own volition?” He asks, sounding skeptical.


Silver simply seems to be preparing to leave with the rowdier demons and their belongings in tow.

 

"None of us were exactly forced, but we did so out of favour for Lady Gaia." A forest guardian says.

"She gave us respite in her gardens after our lives had ended, and we thought we could repay her. She has given us another gift of being able to explore the realms outside her gardens to do this." A fire guardian adds.

"Yeah we just felt like coming to get a change of scenery I guess." A lower demon says.

 

The arachne takes a few notes before going back to looking over the groups.
“Well, you’ve probably gotten more than you bargained for. You lot’ve heard it before, but you are now part of the thin layer between where we are currently and war. Think of yourselves as ambassadors; how you act will shape the views of the locals.” He rattles. “Not all will be receptive out of the gate - do not forget that trust and respect are earned.”

 

"We're not at risk of being thrown into this war to fight, are we?" An earth guardian asks.

 

The arachne seems stunned.
"...Are you crazy? Who the hell do you think we are? The godsdamned hive?!" He asks, irked.
"Pierre, they've been told little to nothing about the situation. Relax." Silver interjects.
"To think we would force them into a war with their own people?! You said that their reality was not set on war!"
"Pierre. They're not." Silver says, turning with a serious look. "It was an innocent question."
He sighs, nodding.
"I... I apologize for my outburst. No, you all have no chance of being put into the war - even if you wanted to. Such is strictly against the terms of the agreement made with your Lady Gaia and Lord Mortius." Pierre says, trying to regain his composure.

 

The earth guardian seems satisfied, nodding.

"What do you mean by a war with our own people?" A half-spider demon asks.

 

"This war I refer to is one we are on the edge with against your reality. Again, you lot are diplomats of sort; depending on your actions, you may either push the locals away from seeking revenge or push them the rest of the way over the edge." Pierre explains, already seeming marginally more composed.

 

"Revenge? For something we personally didn't do?" The half-spider asks.

 

“That doesn’t matter to most. Besides, responsibility falls to the menace’s parents since his passing - and an attack on a god is a declaration of war. Unfortunately, it’s one many have been preparing restlessly for quite a while - The Golden Queen included.” Pierre sighs. “It’s not a pretty situation, but with any luck your help will ease the compounding resentment.”

 

"So they think they can win?" A high demon asks.

 

"The Golden Queen alone can and will collapse your reality upon itself. Your reality never gets a chance to even rally, I'm afraid." Pierre sighs. "I wish it weren't this way, but... ever since the menace struck, she's been merciless. The weight your actions bear here is something I would even spare the menace from."

 

"Well, I doubt she could do that..." The high demon comments.

"Where do we get started?" A fire guardian asks.

 

Pierre frantically steps towards the high demon.
"Do not speak of her like that - tempting her to demonstrate is the last thing any of you should be doing!" He says, panicked.

 

"Mortius could just touch her and she'd die." The high demon says, seeming more trusting of Mortius than overconfident.
