Regarding Crafted Item Durability And Loot Bonus/quality

So recently I got back into the game and thought I should make some money. I noticed there's a nice ingredient called Ancient Currency that gives 5-7 loot bonus and 3-4 loot quality, meaning with 6 of them you would get 30-42 loot bonus and 18-24 loot quality. However, using only Ancient Currency would mean having only 1 durability. From what I understand, durability is lost when being hit or travelling over long distances, but not when doing "nothing". So my question is, does opening a chest count as doing "something" that would lose durability? To go with this, just to make sure, loot bonus/quality is only registered when a chest is opened, right? meaning I could travel around without wearing these loot items to preserve durability and just put them on when opening chests, right? thanks in advance

 

You could leave them off, yes and put them on. But I'm unsure if opening chest counts.

 

Opening chests does not deplete durability.

 

What turtlez said, but if you want. There's much better recipes out there, that allow for good loot quality and have good durability on them, for example, using a decaying heart with 2 elephelk trunks or even 1 elephelk trunk and a bobs tear will allow for 21-23% max lq but with 250-110 durability, depending on which recipe you use

 

yea I just got back and haven't gotten too far into crafting yet. all the %ingredient effectiveness is hella wack lol

 

There's a discord server, dedicated to people doing professions/crafting stuff. If you want anything crafted, you can always ask people on there and they will do it for free for you and give you the best possible recipe to use for your desired crafted items. a lot of people on there dedicated a lot of time into looking into those recipes and the possibilities, it's also a very friendly side of the wynncraft community from the time i've been on there
