Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The air guardian seems rather comforted, as well as a lot of the other guardians.

"So how much longer is this ride?" A lesser demon asks.

 

"We are fifteen minutes into the hypernull segment, which means roughly an hour remains before we arrive at the rift."
"The full length may differ based off if The Silver King wishes to give you a brief flyover tour or simply land." Slate says.

 

More of the demons and guardians take the opportunity to rest, some falling asleep far easier than others. Those that remain awake however don't seem to be as talkative anymore.

 

After the stated hour, the blur of the tunnel fades into a fairly massive structure holding another rift. On the other side, countless guards and wards can be seen - along with one beast that makes the highest classes of the demons on Silver's back look like flies.
"Anyone against a quick tour?" Silver asks, seeming happy to see the rift.

 

A majority of the guardians and demons wake up, either by themselves or from their peers waking them up.

"We could go for a tour." An incubus says, sparking agreement from the demons. The guardians don't appear to be opposed to it, either.

 

Silver smiles.
“Nothing too in depth. You’ll all be welcome to explore on your own in a few days, anyways.” He says, walking in as the guards and beast bow to him.

“I usually take one of two paths, but since I know the ride was a bit scary I thought you might want a bit more control. So, I’ll let you lot decide; would you rather fly over the main castle, or take a quick look at each council member’s kingdom?” Silver asks.

“I haven’t seen you this excited over guests in a long time, my king.” Slate comments.
“This is the first time a friendly face from another reality crossed that rift.” Silver chuckles. “Cherish the memory, as something can only happen for the first time once.”

 

After much discussion, the majority seems to vote for looking at each council member's kingdom; many of the guardians relaxing as they realise they're in a safer area.

 

Silver opens a glimmering portal, flying through as a now transparent barrier of light protects everyone from being soaked as he seems to enter an abyss.

The passengers can see clearly through the bottom of the ocean; bioluminescent parts of abyssal creatures still standing out amidst the dim light. A serpentine leviathan circles Silver, but is utterly dwarved.

As Silver ascends, a vibrant reef comes into view as schools of fish thousands strong part. The natural terrain starts to give way to a titanic staircase with pillars lining either end. Glowing jewels light the waters, and the barrier fades as Silver surfaces, starting to walk down a massive hall way lined with living coral artwork and statues of aquatic creatures lining either end of the hall.

A leviathan circles a levitating bubble, wearing fine armor that seems to have been meticulously crafted with every last detail accounted for. They nod at Silver, who nods in return as another portal is opened - this time, into thick clouds.

"The Sapphire Mage, god of magic. Ruler of water and the beings within, and our primary records-keeper. If you seek apprenticeships regarding mystic arts, you likely will be sent there." Silver says.

 

A lot of water guardians seem impressed by the displays of the ocean, while most of the fire guardians seem terrified of all the water around them. The air guardians seem to enjoy the change of scenery into clouds, some opening their wings slightly to try and feel the breeze.

 

The breeze is slight, as Silver's back is sheltered, but there's a breeze nonetheless.

Silver first descends slightly below the white clouds, grey clouds and dark spikes sticking from below them coming into view.
Bat-like demons and other aerial underworld creatures watch in silence, most seeming to size up the demons on Silver's back.

A floating island with a temple on it stands, though it lacks walls entirely. Bluish topaz and purple crystals decorate the statues and columns, but the structure gives the air of a graveyard. In the center is an upside-down pillar built on the cloud above with a sizable harpy-esque demon with a pale face and red eyes. She nods at Silver as he passes by, though ignores the passengers.

"The Topaz Vampire, Goddess of the skies and death. Every week she alternates between forms, on one side a bloodsucking beast and on the other a gentle warden."

He then ascends, a much more vibrant set of clouds and floating islands coming into view. Some blue topaz remains, but the predominant decoration becomes what looks to be citrine. Flying creatures of all sorts play about in the sky, with a few towns visible on some of the larger islands. Demons seem to get along just fine with the mix of townsfolk; but as homey as it looks, few who can't fly dare move towards any ledge.

Seemingly out of respect, all other dragons land at the sight of Silver.
"She studies life to a degree, but mostly regarding how it interacts with death. In fact, all augments and limiters are her work. She rather cherishes the living, though, as much as she prefers working with the dead." He continues.
"Next stop is rather stuffy and hot. Not to disappoint those who love fire, but I will be regulating the temperature around me for the sake of your fellow passengers."

 

A lot of the death guardians appear to be interested in the graveyard atmosphere, though quite a lot of fire guardians cheer just at the thought of being somewhere hot. The demons don't appear to pay much attention to the other demons around them, mostly supporting each other's needs.

 

Silver opens a portal to a fiery area, a magma geyser erupting not too far off to the side.
Obsidian shards, blood, and bones are scattered about the occasional igneous island. Rubies engraved on battered pillars contrast the palace ahead; it almost resembles a prison with the amount of guards, watchtowers, and patrols. Despite this, friendly sparring matches contrast the dire atmosphere and more decorative pieces come into view as Silver enters the palace itself.

“The Ruby Enforcer, god of fire and rebirth. He’s got a strongman’s ego, but his heart’s in the right place. If you want to work in law enforcement or go somewhere for a sparring match, he’s your guy.” Silver says.

An obsidian-clad wyvern comes into view, seeming to have just trashed something made of stone.
“...I didn’t expect you to come.” He growls.
“Just giving the new folks a quick tour.” Silver says.
“Oh, I would’ve... if you... I missed the memo again, didn’t I?”
“Don’t worry about it, I think you’ll be meeting some of them again soon enough.” Silver chuckles.
“You lot behave, you hear? I ain’t fond of seein’ new faces in the dungeons!” He says, stern.
“Don’t worry, they won’t cause trouble.” Silver says.

 

The fire guardians and even the demons seem too enthralled with the environment to pay much attention to the Wyvern, though none of the other guardians seem to be too concerned about him. The water guardians seem to be far too terrified of the area around them to care about anything else.

 

After a fiery ring forms in front of Silver, he steps out into a vibrant flower-coated field. Deer and birds part for him as golems and dryads idle near fox dens. A country-sized earthen pyramid decorated with emeralds, stone, and seemingly eternal flower buds stands as a monument with a huge entrance; the inside is torchlit, but still dark.

As Silver walks through, guards and dryads along with other elder creatures bow to Silver as he passes, soon stepping up into a chamber with a feathered serpent wearing a vibrant headdress akin to a flower-bearing peacock.
She nods to the passengers, saying nothing while looking over each and every one with a gentle smile.
"The Emerald Serpent, mother of life and lover of earth. Any mortal is welcome to call her Gaia."

 

The forest guardians all seem incredibly interested in the new environment, while some of the demons look a little repulsed.

"Wouldn't calling her Gaia be blasphemous though?" A forest guardian asks.

 

"If you perceive it as blasphemy, perhaps. Your reality's Gaia took little issue with your neighboring Gaia, so I doubt that. However, by no means should you ever call her Gaia in front of The Golden Queen. She's... taken things a bit too hard since our rift was opened." Silver says.
"If you are not comfortable calling me by name, you may always call me by title." Gaia says, seeming a bit confused over the matter.

 

Quite a lot of guardians begin to discuss what counts as blasphemy through false worship over the case of alternate realities, most seeming unsure of how to approach the matter. Some of the demons seem to take enjoyment out of the guardians' confusion.

 

"Don't worry too much about it, I'll ask your Gaia when I go back again." Silver sighs.

 

A lot of the guardians seem to stop talking about the issue, though a death guardian seems to continue speaking to a group of demons about Mortius worship.

 

"I'll ask about worship blasphemy in general, but you're all free to worship your gods from home." Silver says.
"I may not be your Mother Gaia, but you all have an opportunity to make a new life here. If you wish to shed your old life entirely or simply spread the word of your own Gaia, it is up to you; all we ask is you remain courteous." She adds.
