Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Most of the incubi stop; those that remain stopping shortly after the mockery they get from the succubi and devils. A fire guardian even joins in, though quickly stops after the looks he gets from the demons and his peers.

 

The scenery around Silver starts rapidly changing as he seems to have taken off, Cream and Slate starting to walk down the aisle.
"Estimated flight time is an hour and twenty, plus or minus ten minutes. Please remain seated whenever possible, though you may get up once we enter the hypernull tunnel." Cream starts.
"Once we enter null, the edge of the tunnel means annihilation. For your safety, do not chase anything dropped. Anyone who intentionally tries to push another being into the tunnel wall will be arrested and forfeit their chance to forge a new life in our reality."
"You'll be locked in stasis, a report will be written while we're at our rift, and you will be sent back for a direct meeting with your god with The Silver King's guard in tow."
"If you need to relieve yourself, there are bathrooms further back. Do not attempt to tamper with anything that looks like a sensor, for the safety of you and the other passengers."
"You will be held liable for all damages if you do; including but not limited to the annihilation of everyone on board, mutating other passengers into paradoxical horrors, and fines equivalent to two hundred mage coins in your native currency."
"Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions for either of us, each seat and station has an escort call button." Slate concludes with a bow.
"We hope you enjoy the flight." Cream finishes with a curtsy.

 

Quite a lot of the guardians suddenly seem unsure of their choice of transit, even some of the death guardians appearing unsettled by the concept of falling into the edge of the tunnel. None of the demons appear to care, however.

 

"I understand it's not a pretty thought, but the alternative is a ninety year journey." Cream says.

 

"Don't you have a god that can warp space?" One of the devils asks.

 

"Yes, but even then - FTL and warping only cuts the time by half. Without a god of time, you can't safely make those kinds of links nigh-instantaneous." Silver explains. "And this reality lacks one."

 

"So how do you remain on a stable timeline?" A slime demon asks.

 

“You’d need to ask a local, but I presume it has something to do with the fact that time is not a primordial element this reality needs to be present in order to be stable. Don’t worry too much, though. We do have a god of time.”

 

"But you just said you didn't have one." The devil says.

 

"I said this reality lacks one, not mine."

 

The devil and slime look confused, but don't pry further.

One of the demons - looking like some kind of water guardian with tentacles instead of a fish tail - wraps their tentacles around one of the scared looking air guardians, stroking their hair gently with a sly smile.

 

"It seems most of you have missed a critical detail; our destination is another rift. Rifts connect realities. This reality is not the one I hail from." Silver sighs.

 

The guardians and demons are mostly quiet for the rest of the journey, aside from comforting each other from time to time.

 

Silver slows after about a minute.
"I have no intent to kidnap you. If you all have had a change of heart, we'll go back." Silver says, concerned.

 

"It's just a little scary...with what you said about the edges of the tunnel." One of the forest guardians says.

 

"You'll be okay. The tunnel's fairly wide, you'll have to walk off the upholstery to fall into it." Slate says.
Silver makes a projection of a cylinder, and there's still plenty of room for everyone to move around without drawing near the edge.
"This is how big the tunnel will be, if that helps put your mind at ease." Silver says, coming to a stop. "If you're still willing to go, it's about time we cross null."

 

Quite a lot more guardians seem to huddle together for comfort, but nobody seems unwilling.

 

Silver glances back before sighing.
"I'm sorry, it's the best I can do." He says, before letting his projection drop. He seems to be in a huge field, getting ready to sprint.
"Entering hypernull in ten seconds..." Cream shouts as Silver starts walking forward.

 

Guardians seem to lock themselves into their chairs using their element, save for air and fire guardians who hold on as tight as they can. An incubi and succubi fall asleep on each other, while quite a few slime demons compress into smaller, yet denser, forms.

 

As Silver starts sprinting, the scenery around the guardians starts to blur before the upholstery seems to sink into Silver's body and a tube of light forms around it.
There isn't any acting forces on the passengers, though. It feels just like sitting in any old field.

"Welcome to hypernull. You all can now say you've been somewhere that your gods cannot go." Slate says.
