tied with the perkish potato for stats(minus time it subtracts from the buff duration) it is only one of seven main attack dmg affecting ingredients for cooking.

for a build that deals in hitting enemies without consuming mana, its an ok ingredient for the back up plan of swinging wildly when you run out or are just ignoring mana entirely for damaging enemies.

its also common, just i alone have 4.5 stacks of it right now and i use it as i need it on my archer, mage and warrior characters.

downsides are its outclassed by muscles and Phrumkin Seeds(also these ingredients have health bonus) at higher levels and some may even consider Sticky Mudballs to be a good trade off(lowers speed, req. +3 strength).

anything else to add for or against the material's use?

I personally think phrumkin is more worth than sticky mudball, as the -ws and no +hp isn't worth a measly % melee dmg.
Although, I think it's probably better to use muscle overall as it's not much more negative duration, for a decent but more melee. Pigman is fine and all for leveling crafting but imo doesn't have a place in endgame crafting.
