What Is A Replacement For Freedom For Players On A Budget?

Sup! As I browse the forums and try to settle on an endgame build(oh, the possibilities), it seems pretty clear that the favored bow is the mythic Freedom. Unfortunately, it also seems clear that Freedom goes for 10-15 STACKS of LE, and I will never have that much money.
Are there other bows that are contenders for the top spot, or ones that are better in certain areas? If it helps, I'm trying to go for an offensive spell-based vampire build, with an emphasis on mana over health.

In response to your first comment, how would I get so much money? I'm not buying anything, trying to sell what I have, and I'm still hovering around 16 le.

 

Lootrunning is probably the best way to get money, but the problem is that it takes a pretty big investment (like half a stack) to get a decent lootrun build.

Another good rainbow bow is Infused Hive, but personally I'd just recommend Fog of Creation.

On another note, it seems you want a spell build with decent lifesteal, in which case you should consider Stinger (or use it as a secondary weapon), Hellstrand (but its damage is meh), or Cluster (but thunder archer tends to be glassy).

 

Don't use Zero.

Fog of Creation is a possibility I guess.

 

You can also try farming mobs and selling crafting ingreds, I make about 16 blocks every 5-15 minutes in thanos valley

or you could play a better class ;)

 

How exactly would lootrunning work? I understand you would want to get armor and weapons with loot bonus, but is there a best spot for grinding/a best set of armor?

 

You just stack a bunch of loot bonus armor along with some loot quality crafteds if you can afford them. Lootrunning takes place is certain regions with lots of chests, like Corkus, Rodoroc, the Silent Expanse, the Void, etc.

Zero is weak. There are so many better options.

 

Fog of creation is weak too, you're much better off with infused hive or another 90-100 bow.

That sounds interesting. What would I have to do in order to make a bow like that? Please keep in mind that I am coming back to the game after a 3-year hiatus, so I don't know much about professions.

 

Easiest thing to do would be buy the materials, which would be:
3 t3 sky wood and 6 t3 hops string, and the various powders (3 Earth VI, 1 thunder VI, 1 water VI, 1 fire VI, and 2 air VI) and a glacial anomaly. Then have someone craft it for you during a profession speed bomb. Overall the cost would be ≈34 le . If you want it cheaper, in exchange for less damage, then you can use t3 avo wood and t3 sorghum strings instead.

 

Quick question. You said I'd need 3 wood and 6 string, but the link shows me needing 12 string and 6 wood. Which is it?

 

With a profession speed bomb, you can craft the item with only 3 wood and 6 string, since that bomb halves the materials needed to craft something. Otherwise, you will need 12 string and 6 wood.

 

Semi-necroing this thread, but after the 4/19 item update, putting in powders as an ingredient takes away a ton of durability. This means that the crafted bow(listed above) that I was planning on making now has 1 durability, making it fairly useless. So I have to pose the question again: what can I use as a replacement for Freedom?

 

What would you need it for? Fog of Creation, like others have mentioned, can clear anything in the game (except, perhaps, max level guild attacks) with morph set, another low-investment set of gear.

 

Why, to be bad-ass, of course! Who doesn't want 41K arrow storms with greed? But you are probably right, I'm going to start spending my stockpile on a fog of creation and some other good gear.
