Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Please, no need to rush a delicate agreement. How much more time do you need?”

 

"It should take about three to five weeks, though I understand this matter is quite pressing to you." Lux says.

"We had our last meeting somewhat recently." Tenebrae adds.

 

“Well... that is a bit more than I counted on. Would two weeks be too much to ask?” Silver asks, sounding a bit surprised.
“Nearly a common calendar month is a huge strain on the more rambunctious mortals, and I’m not sure how long without word the more vengeful ones will take before trying to slip through against our wishes.” Golden adds, seeming cross.

 

"As I said, Tenebrae and I can use our influence to make this happen within a week. If you yourself need preparation time, however, it can be done in two." Lux explains.

 

“If you insist on one week, that is when we will have everything arranged and in order. Any longer was simply me hoping to be a bit more accommodative of your schedule.” Silver responds.

 

"It may take a week and a half depending on the other gods, though we intend to meet in a timely fashion." Tenebrae clarifies.

 

“Noted. You know where to find us when you are ready.” Golden says.
Silver nods.
“I look forward to meeting whoever you happen to send.” He says with a genuine curiosity.

 

Lux nods, and the pair exit.

Once outside the chambers, Tenebrae and Lux look to see if Ihra followed.

 

Ihra seems to have already left, standing a fair ways outside of Xlentia's chambers with a map in hand.
"...they should then distribute whatever forces are there evenly. If they choose not to, we'll run up the side with less resistance.
...
...yeah, if the seam's hidden then all we should need are the mimics. Just a matter of keeping those two alive long enough to get inside, in that case.
...
...I'll get back to you, I might be getting chewed out or up again depending on her mood." Ihra says, looking at Tenebrae.
"You didn't need a translator, and I had other things to get to." She sighs.

 

"Nonetheless, you deserve payment all the same." Tenebrae says, Lux giving her something that she kneels down and offers to Ihra on the edge of her palm.

A pair of rings - one deep black and the other bright white - rests on the edge of Tenebrae's giant hand.

"A favour from each of us, to the best of our ability," Lux explains, "Just pray to us while wearing our ring, and we'll answer it as best we can."

 

Ihra looks them over before shaking her head.
“Taking a gift from you or the other gods of your reality hasn’t gone well for anyone here who has.” She says, seeming hurt by her own words. “I can’t take that risk right now.”

 

Tenebrae looks hurt, though doesn't say anything; simply crushing the rings into a fine powder that dissipates as soon as it touches the ground.

"You have our thanks, at least." Lux says, a slight change in his tone seeming to imply lost respect for Ihra.

 

Ihra nods, though she doesn’t seem too trusting of Lux’s word.
“Please give Lady Gaia my regards, if you insist on providing a favor.” She says, before summoning and opening a tome. “Mortius, too. I can barely stand seeing the aftermath of these last few ops, and he handles worse all the time...”

 

"They should be coming here for a meeting in about a week. I'll tell them to come find you." Lux says.

"You're always welcome in our realms if you need some time away." Tenebrae offers.

 

“I’ll swing by if I’m able.” Ihra nods, Silver taking his leave down the other hall.

 

Lux nods, before taking Tenebrae's hand; the pair heading to the tear between realities to leave.

 

Golden seems to have warped to the rift, waiting for them with a crystal in hand.
“I meant to ask this of you prior. You have a god of time, correct? Deliver this to him. Only he may see it.” She says, holding her hand outstretched. “Sneak a peek at your own peril.”

 

"What is this?" Tenebrae asks, immediately suspicious.

 

The Golden Queen says something, but it comes out horribly distorted and makes a painful screeching sound resonant with the cog necklaces - though it doesn’t affect them functionally.
“I warned you it was for him and him alone. You have caused plenty of trouble already for ignoring warnings, foolish of me to think you would not ignore another.” She says, stern. “Now, if you wish to reject my goodwill, say so outright.”

 

"We just want to know what - if any - effects it will have on him when we deliver it to him." Lux says.
