“When you’ve got everything automated, the only thing that can’t be is tastes. Theatrics plays into that.”

 

"Well, let me know when you're ready to get going. I'm guessing I didn't give you much time alone to wind down."

"She chooses not to do that, but if theatrics help keep things interesting after that many eons..."

 

"I'll spend some time with Sgavrinn and let you know when I'm ready." Artemis says, smiling as she glances back toward where Sgavrinn was.

 

He’s still sitting there, tail wagging slowly.
“Promise I won’t get tangled up in something between now and then.” She says, giving Artemis a brief smile before warping away.

 

As Ihra warps away, she hears a voice in the back of her mind; Ihra only noticing it from it's odd familiarity.

"Thank you for helping her. May Gaia's blessing be with you." The familiar voice says, sounding appreciative; though it sounds like it comes through an incredibly weak connection.

Ihra feels the presence of the voice disappear again, just as fast as it seemed to appear.

 

Confused, she links with Artemis.
“Did you just reach out to me?” She asks, taken a bit off guard.

 

"No?" Artemis responds, confused, "I've been talking with Sgavrinn."

 

“Huh... Alright. Sorry to interrupt you.” Ihra says, letting the connection with Artemis drop as she tries to figure out where the other connection came from.

 

Ihra can't quite trace the connection, almost as if a ghost spoke to her.

 

Ihra opts to let the thought drop, waiting instead for Artemis (or you) to reach out to her.

 

It takes a while for Ihra to be reached out to, but I eventually call out to her.

"Hey Ihra, can I ask you a monumental favour that'll probably give you some really good connections?" I ask casually.

 

"You couldn't get Tenebrae to meet with the Golden Queen, could you?" She asks.

 

"The opposite. Considering your status, I was hoping you'd be their translator. Tenebrae and Lux would be incredibly appreciative of it if you did." I explain.

 

“O-oh. Yeah, I can do that. Did you run the thought by them first at least?”

 

"They actually suggested it. Tenebrae said she wanted to make things up to you, or something." I respond.

 

"I... have my doubts, but I freed myself up if you needed something like this anyways. You're doing okay, though, right?"

 

"Mostly, I just have some...debts to pay off," I say, sounding a little exhausted, "Reminds me of my contract days, before the revolution."

 

“Don’t push yourself too hard. We’re in this together, can’t have one of us break.” Ihra says, concerned. “I’ll be waiting in the Realm of Shadows, though. I figure Tenebrae will let me know when she’s ready.”

 

"It's fine, currently I'm just being Aquira's bodyguard. She...didn't exactly appreciate the first deal I offered her," I sigh, "I'll get Artemis to let you know when the gods are ready if Tenebrae doesn't."

 

“She’s caused us a lot of problems... I just hope nobody tells Katie.” Ihra sighs, letting the link idle.
