Hello I seem to quickly fill my inventory very often and quite far from any town so was wondering if there was a backpack or inventory upgrade?

No, but the ingredient pouch can hold up to 27 ingredients. You just kind of haf to deal with it

I agree, more inv space is needed. Nearly all the time I head off from town, where I had just emptied my inv, towards a quest location slaying thing and opening chests along the way I fill my inv within a 3rd of the way and have to head back into town to empty my inv. And then I end up going around in circles countless time like that. However, when I do reach a quests my inv is often full long before halfway finished that quest and I end up having to guess what might be useless or cheap that can be thrown out for something new found. And then I find a chest that has so many items it will take up half my inv space, if I had it, and causes a brain hemorrhage trying to figure out what to do. OooOoooh, and lets not forget what happens when you get a reward and you click on it to find you have gotten a reward of more stuff than you have inv space. Yes. more inv space is needed!

In most major towns, there are banks which you can access with ender chests. They're usually signaled by an emerald sign. You can get a ton of bank pages to store your items in, up to 20 (even more than 20, although at that point it gets ludricrously expensive)

You don’t have to pick up everything you find. If you're going to need inventory space for a quest, just don’t loot any chests. If you have a reward you can claim, do that in town so you can sell or bank those things.

One of the game developers said that this was kind of planned, as you have to think what is worth taking along

You can stop picking up t1 powders, basic weps/armor, and unique chests, that should work
