"Maybe. She still should be out there, I'd just have to find her. As big of a place as it is..."

 

Artemis smile returns along with a new hope within her, the forest around her overgrowing into what seems like a jungle as she hugs Ihra again.

"Thank you." Artemis says softly, the overgrown plantlife around her withering away back to normal as Ihra feels a surge of death magic channel through Artemis.

 

"It's the least I could do to repay you for everything you've done for me." Ihra says, wearily smiling.

 

Artemis lets go of Ihra, smiling anew in her death guardian form.

"I promise, I'll end this war." Artemis says confidently, a new strength within her.

 

"We'll end it. Just like we dove into it. Together, intact, alive." Ihra nods, seeming to calm her nerves a bit.

 

Artemis nods, her death guardian form's surge seeming to wear off as she turns back to her forest guardian form.

"I feel better now." Artemis says positively, smiling.

 

"I'm sorry I couldn't help translate for you. Did the meeting go okay?" Ihra asks, worried.

 

"It went better than it could've gone," Artemis says, trying to stay positive, "The golden queen wants to see Tenebrae and Lux. Aj's been working on that meeting."

 

"I'd think they're hesitant to go, considering her interest in war." Ihra says, a bit confused.

 

"They are..." Artemis sighs.

 

"Maybe he'd have an easier time convincing them to go if Silver stepped in? I know he was dragging his heels hard on the Golden Queen's war path."

 

"I think Silver is the only one that kept us alive." Artemis says, nodding.

 

"The harder part would be getting Silver somewhere. Xlentia's big, but... Silver just kind of is a kingdom wall."

 

"He spoke through the rift, so perhaps a similar meeting could be arranged." Artemis explains.

 

"Maybe. It might help, at least..."

 

"The golden queen is so demanding of proper decorum. I'm worried our gods may say something wrong." Artemis sighs.

 

"Considering we've been to exactly one of their meetings and got banned for having mortal mannerisms, they're probably right on her level." Ihra laughs. "Well, actually I kinda just ruined it for everyone, didn't I..."

 

"Praecantatia is only allowed to take Stephanie now on account of her being a demigod. I suppose beings from your reality are treated the same as mortals would be at their divine meetings," Artemis says, smiling a little at Ihra's humour, "Though they don't allow mortals to join in on their meetings due to the weight of the matters they discuss. The golden queen just seems to demand order out of everyone she meets..."

 

"I'm pretty sure it's more I just ruined it for everyone, in terms of othersouls."

 

Artemis shrugs, giving a 'You probably did.' sort of smile.
