In all seriousness, the worst part is not the virus itself, rather being quarantined. If the entire population is quarantined then there will be no food, no heating, no water, etc. So while, yes, the quarantines help for now, if this issues gets much larger they will hurt more than they help. Stay safe.

Spoiler: Long paragraph you don't have to read because i wrote it while being half asleep and also craving coffee... this is also long.

Just take your measures months earlier, try to think of every possible outcome from the virus, gather supplies, always have a few escape plans, not just 1 or 2 more is needed for higher chance of living a good life.

If you don't wanna get infected then get a gas mask, get a lot of canned food, wear goggles and gloves, wash ur hands carefully with soap After u do anything especially if its something outside of your house and/or before eating.

If you don't care about getting infected and think you can easily no pot the virus as if it was The Eye or some shit, then as i stated before, have escape plans, supplies, keep ur home safe, try not to give people the knowledge of you having the virus, take care of your health and it generally isn't too bad for people younger than 50, and barely does anything for people younger than 10
And for goodness sake don't travel across the entire universe without care if you infect others or not, you may not care if you get the virus or not but others may get scared and there's no helping it, the media makes it way worse than it actually is and mental state really affects the immune system.


I already thought of the outcomes and my survival, if it comes to it i'll have to use techniques and science from all the ages to barely survive on my own, food, shelter, clothing and safety is what humans require for absolute survival and the reason we dominated the planet since we became a thing is because unlike animals we have a mind and even if you were a moronic idiot that mind will learn and understand some basic important things through trial and error.
There's a high chance half of humanity will get eradicated from this virus, mostly due to the poor fight we're doing against it and the stupidity of most governments.

to make it simple, in my personal opinion
if you don't want to be quarantined then don't even let anyone know you have the virus, don't infect others willingly, have supplies for the near and far future in case the outcome of almost everything being quarantined like you said and be ready to make an escape at any given time, you never know when the government might go nuts and start killing everyone with the virus.


Schools and work areas getting shut down is a really good thing tho so gj coronavirus

COVID-19 is scary. But we've been through worse. There's a pandemic every decade, a new war every year, the world is always ending -- it has been for thousands of years now. No need for existential crises because of next year's news.

If you want to stay healthy, canned food isn't the way to go, as it's not exactly a varied diet. Your immune system is what will be fighting the virus if you were to get it, so take good care of it.

Goggles don't do much, unless someone infected were to sneeze right into your eyes. Gloves are only good if you avoid physical contact and if you clean them. Basically, they don't matter. (Source: I asked a doctor just last Monday)

If you happen to get infected, the proper thing to do is to try keep others from getting infected as well. Escaping (where to, might I ask?) will do the opposite of helping.

That's unethical, and it increases risk of infection. Avoid people in general.

My university has cancelled every event and has moved classes to online for indefinitely atm. And now my spring break trip to Florida was cancelled because if my grandmother got it she would be dead in 2 days.

I’m sure there people taking it too seriously, but I think it’s better to err on the side of caution. Especially if it mutates into something worse like influenza did. It does suck though that E3 is cancelled now though... was really looking forward to that Last of Us...

 

Also my younger sister won’t have school until April 13th...

As someone whose school is switching to online, that's honestly scarier than the virus itself. A lot of classes can't be taken online easily, especially lab courses like chemistry and biology. And calc online is gonna be so fun.
