Where does it even go?

 

It's no secret that mods, admins and QAs in bug reports section have the ability to open and view deleted messages if they need to. Every user of the forums has consented to this by accepting the terms of service at https://forums.wynncraft.com/help/terms while creating their accounts.

Reason for deletion is what's shown to staff in place of deleted posts, alongside a note of who deleted the post and wrote said message. It helps them determine whether the confidential contents should be read or not. For example, users can use it as a quick general note to let mods know if a post's been deleted for personal or arbitrary reasons, and don't want them to read it. However, I'd say it's more-of a staff tool for summarizing posts and marking down their deletion reasons, so others can get a hang of situations quicker. Simultaneously it also circumvents any potential power abuse from individual staff members. It's also a tool for mods to let users know what their posts have been deleted for if needed, without the requirement of contacting them through other means such as a direct conversation.
