I made an embarassing mistake on my spanish quiz today. So basically, we had to translate sentences from english to spanish, and some of them had two verbs (One used mirar and cantar iirc). I thought the rule was that you conjugate the first verb and leave the others in their infinitive form (i.e. ¿Puedo ir al baño?) but after some extensive research, I found out that’s only the case if they’re right next to each other. The sentence I had to translate was something like “He watched the man sing” or something, and I only conjugated mirar to mira, and left cantar as it is. I bet my teacher is gonna read it and think that I’m braindead

    "Them Days" by Blacklite District

I have bad days, I keep on fighting
I have good days, I insist on dying
I live those days, I keep 'em exciting
    Oh yea yea, them days

Another day on the road, I'm feeling so alone
Month away from my home, I'm out here on my own
That's how the story goes, on the path that I chose
I've got shoes with no soles, sail the seas till I'm old

When they hit the lights, cut me down to size
You can scream what you like, we're here to do work tonight
    All in all
    It goes on and on

I have bad days, I keep on fighting
I have good days, I insist on dying
I live those days, I keep 'em exciting
    Oh yea yea, them days

I've got no one to blame, Its kind of hard to explain
Hanging my head in shame, feels like I'm going insane

When they hit the lights, cut me down to size
    On and on

I have bad days, I keep on fighting
I have good days, I insist on dying
I live those days, I keep 'em exciting
    Oh yea yea, them days
    Oh yea yea, them days
    Oh yea yea, them days

Watch out for the days, don't count me out
I know what its like to scream and shout
Deep inside I wanna cast a doubt
But now I know what its all about

Watch out for the days, don't count me out
I know what its like to scream and shout
Deep inside I wanna cast a doubt
But now I know what its all about

I have bad days, I keep on fighting

Ya, he also included another verse later, which can be seen here:

Basically it includes the eastern european countries and the -stan countries that were part of the Soviet Union, the countries that made up Yugoslavia, and a few others, including some African countries (he still neglected to mention South Sudan tho, sad)

Mainseries pokemon games ranked worst to best, let's do this shit

    Rules:
Gens 1, 2 and 3 will be ranked based on their remakes (Let's Go, HGSS, and ORAS respectively) partially because of the crappy hardware they're on, partially because I never played the originals
    No third versions
I'll try to be semi-objective, but of course my own bias takes a huge role in this. Also, small disclaimer: I don't "hate" any pokemon game, hell, they're basically all the same.

    Ok, let's-a-go!

    8. Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee
Wow, a polished up gameboy game is last, what a shocker...
No but seriously, I had a blast playing this game, but I don't think many will disagree with me when I say that this is the least impressive pokemon game. It's a shot-for-shot remake of Pokemon Yellow, a 20-year old gameboy game, and is so watered down from gen 7 (limited to a grid, only 151 pokemon, 153 if you count Meltan and Melmetal, less content). The game looks "good" visually, but only really because it's super polished, not due to overall graphical fidelity. However, as I said before, I had tons of fun playing this; There's a co-op mode, and my brother and I had a really good time syncing our balls when catching. Oh yeah, that's right; The one thing that makes this remake different from Yellow is the new motion-control minigame. Instead of you weakening a wild pokemon and then pressing a button to lob the ball, you throw the ball yourself, and the catch rates are like Pokemon Go. Surprisingly, I thought this was a really good change! It felt like I was playing Wii Sports again, god I miss those times lol. Catching pokemon always felt like a bit of a chore to me, and this new system makes it fun. My main problem with the game is that it didn't take risks, in other words, it was "lazy". For example, the Sevii isles from FRLG are omitted here when they could've been tied into a postgame story about Mew. But hey, it's a remake of a gameboy game a la Link's Awakening. I knew exactly what I was getting, so I can't get too mad at it lol.

    7. Sword and Shield
Would you believe me if I said this was my personal least favorite pokemon game? I was considering putting this last on the list, but SwSh is overall a meatier package than Let's Go, as it's not limited to a grid, more pokemon are included, ranked battles are included, etc. But to be blunt, this game just feels so hollow. It feels as watered down as Let's Go, except that I'd actually rather replay Let's Go than this. Exploration is yeeted out the window; Only 10 routes, 4 ish "dungeons", and an empty wild area that's literally the same thing as a safari zone, just in 3D with overworld encounters. All of the routes are the same; Short, linear, straight lines with not much to them. This is the case for the dungeons as well. Take the Slumbering Weald for instance, the foggy forest area behind your home. The explorable area at the beginning of the game is just a bunch of corridors. At the end of the game, the deeper area of the forest opens up and sure, it has some diverging paths, but they're still extremely narrow. I point this out because the Weald should have been another wild area. There's so many areas on the Galar map that are blocked off. For example, so many areas lead to a dead end, and when that happens, you have to take a train to the next city. You know, instead of designing an interesting route or cave to link cities, now the norm is to link them via a press of a button. The story sucks as well. There's an idea for a story here of Sonia trying to piece together Galar's history, but they don't really do anything with it; It's never clearly explained how Eternatus and Zacian/Zamazenta are related. Then there's the really cheesy twist involving Chairman Rose. Rose decides that there will be an energy crisis in 1000 years, so he decides to use Eternatus to prevent that from happening. This makes...zero sense. Why would Rose care about this when he won't be alive then? Can't Galar survive on electric type Pokemon until another energy source is found? The production values for this game are horrible. The lack of polish is inexcusable, from the bad textures, wrong backgrounds (Fishing a Chinchou in Hulbury docks shows a field as the background instead of the docks when the random encounter happens), and the pop-in issues. The most fun I had with the game was everything besides the main story. Cooking curry for my pokemon, doing raid battles, filling my pokedex, etc. That's why if I ever decide to replay SwSh, I'm doing a Professor Oak challenge or something to spice it up. The cut national dex is really just the cherry on top of issues with the game. I could go on, but I spent way too much time complaining about a game that everyone has already complained about.

    6. X/Y
I respect X and Y a lot, bringing the games to 3D (or should I say 2.5D, since movements are still limited to a grid), but I always thought they were weaker titles in the series. Kalos is a diverse region that's fun to explore, but that's just about everything this game has going for it in 2020. The graphics don't hold up very well today. Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, a game that released on the same hardware the same year, looks so much better. The story isn't very good; Like with Sw/Sh, there's an idea of a story by telling the tale of Az, the former king of Kalos, and his floette, but that story is rushed. The characters are among some of the blandest in the series. Lysandre is a twist villain, but wasn't very interesting outside of that. Your rivals are some of the most boring rivals not just in Pokemon, but in video game history, and Diantha, the champion, appears twice in the main story. These games are also notoriously easy. While all pokemon games are to an extent, X and Y makes sure you never lose, since the EXP share is broken, the AI is braindead, and most enemy trainers don't have 4 moves on their 'mons. Minor and subjective complaint, but the soundtrack is pretty bland compared to gen 5, 7, and 8. So yeah, fun game to play, but doesn't hold up well today.

    5. Diamond/Pearl
These games are infamously slow, in terms of pace, arbitrary distracting weather around Sinnoh, and even the surfing. Along with being slow, DP has the same problem as XY with just feeling bland. Team Galactic are uninteresting to me, and none of the characters/gym leaders stand out. None of the areas are particularly memorable either, except for maybe the area around Snowpoint City. But hey, Cynthia is pretty good. I wish I had more to say, but can't think of anything else lol. I heard Platinum fixes a lot of these issues, but I never played it.

    4. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
ORAS was pretty middle-of-the-road for me. I really don't know how to describe it; It's like any other pre-gen 5 pokemon game, but with random gimmicks everywhere? Idk, it really feels like with Hoenn's gimmicks, Gamefreak just threw things at the wall and saw what stuck. I really wish I had more to say, but I just don't. I like it better than XY, so it's the definitive gen 6 experience. Also, the delta episode is overrated, but Zinnia is a great character.

    3. Sun and Moon
Unpopular opinion, but sun and moon did so many things right for the series. It brought great technical improvements, such as the removal of the grid (your character can now move in all 360 degrees), removal of chibi models, and the world overall looking much more vibrant and detailed than Kalos. We can't forget about the QoL improvements. HMs are gone forever, woohoo. Only took 20 years, but GameFreak did it.But the main reason why I like this gen is because it brought Pokemon into a more modern JRPG. Yes, that includes more cutscenes and handholding, as all JRPGS have. This was the only game in the series where Pokemon didn't feel like baby's first JRPG. It had a more mature story about Lillie and Lusamine (who are great characters). Trials...aren't my favorite thing in the world. I appreciate the effort to do something different with the formula, but most of the time, trials feel like the exact same thing as gyms, but even more watered down. However, I love totem battles. They're genuinely some of the most challenging battles in Pokemon history, mostly due to the SOS feature of the totem pokemon calling support pokemon. The islands of Alola are small, but dense. If you see something, you can go to it. Exploration is lighter here for story reasons as well as routes being more linear, but I didn't mind it nearly as much as SwSh. There's enough diversity in the region, and Vast Poni Canyon was a good enough dungeon to make up for the lack of them. This game honestly doesn't deserve the hate it gets/got and I hope it gets the gen 5 treatment in upcoming years.

    2. Heartgold and Soulsilver
This game is really overrated, but damn, it is good. While I find Johto to be too small and bland, it's hard to argue with that when there's so much content. In addition to the Johto league, you can explore Kanto in the postgame freely (for the most part, there's some roadblocks that you have to resolve before Kanto is completely open). There's also a battle frontier, giving you even more hours of playtime. However, there are flaws with the game for sure. The level curve is horrible. You're better off training 3 'mons instead of a team of 6, and Johto does a poor job showcasing the new pokemon. iirc, you can't even get good ones like houndour until Kanto. Still a great game though.

    1. Gen 5 (Black and White, Black 2 and White 2)
The pinnacle of the series. I know what you're thinking. "You said you wouldn't put third versions on here!" I did say that, but B2W2 are technically sequels, not third versions, so it's fair game. Where do I start with this gift from god; Oh right, the story. Yeah, the map is a little linear, but this is mostly for story reasons. BW has the best story in any pokemon game hands-down. It brings up the question of whether pokemon should be treated as battlers or if they should be liberated. N is the best character in the series. In B2W2, his story is fleshed out a bit more, and although it's tacit, it's really sad. But the fun doesn't stop there! B2W2 are sequels to BW, and oh my god, they couldn't have turned out better. The story isn't as deep, but there's just so much content, just like HGSS. Memory Link has touching moments as well, so the storytelling isn't completely yeeted throughout the window. It's hard to explain what makes Gen 5 so good, it just is. If you haven't played BW or B2W2 yet, try them out, I promise you won't regret it.
