Hello! I've decided to give some of my LE to the community - but unlike the last giveaway I did, winners aren't chosen randomly. This time, you have to win it in a contest.

The goal of this contest is to write about what Wynncraft and/or its community will be like in 2025, assuming it still exists in Minecraft with an active playerbase. What will have changed gameplay-wise? What cool new things have been added, and what old feature will have been removed? How will the community react to all this? The best four entries will win a prize of LE.

    How to Enter:
To enter, simply list your username, and your response below it.

    Judging:
I will be judging your submissions on two primary factors: detail and creativity. Think outside the box: I never expected a 5th class to be added, so who knows what new stuff could be in the game! I feel like a lot of people would say "oh dern and fruma got added", but you'll need more detail than that: what exactly was added in these updates? I'm fine with somewhat meme-y responses, but you'll need to put more effort than just one sentence into them.

Your response doesn't have to be massive; if you can convey everything in two or three sentences that's fine. You are also allowed to format your post however you want.

Your grammar and spelling will not affect your submissions. I'm aware that English is not everyone's first language.

    Prizes:
    1st Place: 64LE
    2nd Place: 32LE
    3rd Place: 16LE
    4th Place: 8LE
    5th Place: 8LE

Huge thanks to @Bast for donating half of the prize money for this event!

    Additional Notes:
    - I have absolutely no clue what Wynncraft will be like in 2025, and I don't think anyone does.
    - You can continue editing your response until the deadline.
    - Let me know if you have any questions about the event. I'll add any answers here.

Good luck to everyone, and I'm excited to see what you guys come up with!

The event will end on March 15th, 10:00P.M CST. The winner will be announced on this thread afterwards at an unknown time.

    Alright done

    The Time Traveler

It was any normal Saturday, as a boy named Jimmy spent his weekend playing away on Wynncraft. Recently, with his new account, Shadowstealer, got back into Wynncraft, as he got a new account to ban evade, and was leveling his assassin.

Suddenly, a whirring siren, flashing blue lights, and a woosh of smoke filled the room, blasting Jimmy’s plastic katana, and fedora off his bed. Emerged from the smoke was a rectangular blue steel pod. From the pod emerged a time traveler, tired, with scratch and burn marks on his black leather coat and jeans.

“I’m from the future,” said the time traveler. “You need to know tha-”

“Fuck off, I’m playing Minecraft,” said Jimmy.

“Jimmy, you don’t understand the direness of this situation, you need to know something!”

“Ugh, Wynncraft is so boring, and now we got this guy,” He thought. “This content drought hit hard, there hasn’t been any content for… three months!”

Wait a second. Time traveller. Time Machine. Content Drought. Ah ha!

“Fine, just tell me, I don’t have time for this,” as he grabbed Bob’s Mythic Dagger replica.

“In the futu-,” Jimmy mentally blocked this time traveler’s lecture. It was unimportant compared to his genius plan as he readied himself mentally.

The time traveler finished his spiel, but the look of realization appeared on his face.

    “Oh shit, do not-”

In cold blood, the replica Bob’s Mythic dagger connected with the back of the time traveler’s head, reenacting the spin attack from Wynncraft. Previously, he underestimated spin attack, but now he knew it could stun, allowing him to follow up and do more damage with more spin attack. Although this dagger was a replica, a metal blunt object hits hard. The time traveler ran out of time, downed by the level 80 assassin.

Without an annoying time traveler that would get him to do what he wanted, Jimmy could achieve his recent dream, experience more Wynncraft content! But what to what year?

“March 15, 2025, five year, huh convenient.”
With a push of a button, he emerged out of the pod, five years later. Even five years later, Jimmy’s room was untouched by time. With excited movement, he scrambled onto his computer, logging into Wynncraft Forums.

    I can’t wait!

    Click. Click. Click.

He reached to get some tissues, and a handful of lotion. His eyes were crying, and his hands dry from all the hype. Luckily, even five years later, these precious artifacts of life were still there, ready to use.

Filled with anticipation, Jimmy logged into Wynncraft.

His level 80 assassin was still there in the class menu.

    “Like it should be.”

    Click.

“Hmm, the update room looks dif-”

“Hold up, my mana isn’t out of twenty, its 10,300?”

    “And there’s a spell teacher?!?”

It was clear that there was a total spell revamp. There was a new id for additional maximum mana, and the mana potion was changed to be a static amount to go along with it. Mana regen, mana cost reduction and percentage were changed, and only health regen. Health regen became meta, while mana regen became a gimmick, similar to health regeneration in the past 2020 meta. Surprisingly, mana cost reduction, and percentage were balanced, and not abusable, notably due to the mana maximum change. There were no other changes to the ids, except soul point regen being buffed on all soul point regen items, as the percentage was increased.

For an hour, Jimmy was in the update room, testing out the new spells, out of the seven new spells to replace the original skills. Each new spell correlated with an element, including light and darkness, two new and incredibly broken elements. There were no additional skill points to go with these elements however.

“Spin Attack to Darkness Rend, to reduce damage to my enemies! Vanish to Shadow Strike, to appear behind a location to kill! Multihit to Soul Severer, one powerful slash. Smoke Bomb to Darkness Blout, to cast a giant darkness upon the world. The ultimate agent of darkness is ready!”

Soon, Jimmy was ready to do some new quests, as to him, Xarx Bloodbringer the assassin was ready. He prepared to do his favorite quest in the past.

Wonder how they changed my favorite quest.

However, Xarx would be devastated by the changes.

“Are you kidding me? They replaced the plot to something stupid! I can’t believe I can’t just take down the Prince of Darkness by myself anymore! Instead, I just investigate some cult, cool Dern lore, but boring, and in the end I just kill some cult leader, instead of taking down the Prince of Darkness! Can’t believe they lowered the stakes.”

Eye of the Storm, instead of being primarily about some jumbled plot and gameplay about taking down a forgettable demon prince, was revamped to be a sneak-peak into Dern. Throughout Lexdale, remade so it isn’t an afk trap, the quest started from a villager, asking the player to investigate a mysterious cult. Eventually, the player would learn the cult, their plans for power by summoning a dernic aberration, so they could establish a foothold in Lexdale.

Jimmy buried his worries, for surely the other quests would be better?

“Let me check the questbook- wait why the fuck do I have to redo all the damn quests.”

Following the Gavel Revamp of 2023, many of the Gavel quests were changed. Some quests had a few tweaks and changes, like Memory Paranoia’s boss fight being removed and added with a more symbolic ending. However other Gavel quests, a very long list, were heavily revamped to be better.

“There’s no way I’m doing all these damn quests again. However, they added a Sky Island questline! Too bad I have to be level 95 to actually start it.”

To find solutions, he scanned the questbook, trying to look for some quick and fun ways to level.

“Hmm. How can I level up quickly? There's a new Mortal Mountain quest, and a new main storyline section of the questbook, I think I’ll do Mortal Mountain, don’t have time to go through that bore, no, cancel that dungeon… quest idea. The Main Story Line is probably better.”

    Ten Hours Later....

Jimmy’s sullen eyes, with red coloring, rolled back on his rolly chair. The blue light was a dull pain, contrasted with the four AM night.

“Hmph, although those ten hours of unskippable cutscenes want me to rip off my hair, the option to turn to the Fruma side, to become the Queen’s sword was worth that agony. Plus, that Ragnar, Wynn’s Defender introduction, with that sick music, instantly killing a dragon, can’t wait to fight him at the end.”

The darkness of night almost pulled him to slumber, until he rolled back into the blue light.

“I should sleep, but Sky Islands.”

His eyes continued the rhythm of pain, and sleep’s grasp was pulling him towards sleep..

“Maybe instead just a quick look at the 2025 forums, then I’ll sleep.”

Jimmy proceeded to check the forums, but was blasted with extreme light. Light theme was a giant laser with the force of the sun. Before the light theme burnt him to a crisp. Luckily, he was able to log onto his old forum account, entering the safety of dark theme.

“Phew, a little longer, and I’d be ash.”

Very few of the 2020 Wynncrafters were there on the forum. Due to the controversial wait of the Gavel Revamp, few players remained. Instead, the new generation was led through community events and Wynncraft content hosted by MissNetherLord, and bntr_.

Through his searches through the Wynncraft pages, one post piqued interest, a popular spoiler tagged post in 2024 by D0Y0N, named Friendship is Magic. Without thinking, Jimmy clicked the post.

    It read:

The power of friendship, the end of the main storyline has taught me lessons my dad did not. Luckily, instead of that fight that you expected with the Queen or Ragnar, depending on which side you chose, was replaced with a more appropriate end. The Dern Beast appears right before you through a portal during the face off against Ragnar/The Queen and you fight him with said person. However, you are unable defeat the Beast alone, like the and fall defeated. But do not fret, with the friends you made along the storyline, you are filled with the element, Friendship, is infused with your weapon as friends you made power it. With this new, you could overpower darkness, slaying the beast with friendship power, convincing the Queen of her evil deeds or becoming good after seeing the light through the power of friendship!

The post was much longer, congratulating the ending and complimenting everything it did, good, but mostly bad. Jimmy read on, he could not bear it. He dug his nails into his clothes, trying to give himself pain to try to block out this terrible ending. Normally, an unearned friendship is magic ending is just bad, however for him, it was twice as bad. Friendship endings deal super effective damage to edgy types.

“I have to stop this! I need to stop this!”

He re-entered his time machine, emitting a dim blue light.

“Although I may have to bear this cursed knowledge, I will return to the past to prevent my past self from seeing this wretched future, and I’ll stay here!”

With noble intentions, smoke, sirens and blue light filled the room, as Jimmy, in the pod left for the past to prevent his past self from seeing this terrible future.

    ----------------------------------

    Additional Information just because.

Light and Dark Element Balance: Though both elements had elemental weaknesses to each other, like dragon type against itself, it basically had resistances to all other elements. Light’s damage was basically a better Thunder damage range, while Dark’s had a better Earth damage range. Although both had somewhat difficult requirements to use either, rainbow slap easily passed this requirement due to an oversight. Not only that, the Dark and Light spells for each class was extremely tuned, which combined with Dark and Light gear respectively, made everything a joke. The game became easier than it is now, even with the scaled up difficulty.

Heavily Revamped Quest List during the Gavel Revamp of 2023, Quest Name and Level: Clearing the Camps 43, Green Skinned Trouble 44, The Death Whistle 53, Reclaiming the House 61, LIGHT REALM SERIES, A Fighting Species 64, From the Mountains 67, ALDOREI SERIES, HUNGER OF THE GERT SERIES, Purple and Blue 77, Canyon Guides 84, The Lost 85

SayaDuck (yes I finally changed it wooo)

wait i can add stuff until the deadline right
yay now adding lots more stuff until the deadline

I tried to keep this as "realistic" as possible (Regions aren't finished in a single year, of course)

Timeline of Wynncraft: 2021-2025 you expected a list with no details but well... you're wrong
    2021:
    • Statue gets another unnecessary buff.
    • The Nothing is reworked to be boring like The Rainmaker because it conflicts with new item design. Pure is also a casualty, being reworked to focus on its major id instead.
    • Heavy Spell is released in the form of high +spell cost items! Class builders immediately abuse it by stacking mana regen and mana steal to get 15/4s, effectively dropping a tactical nuke every 4 seconds.
    • Bast gets mod (Edit: hmmmmmm)
    • Teleport and Charge become proper damage options! Warp prices skyrocket.
    • Warrior's Bash now does knockback downwards, for actual combo potential! (Upperbash is now epic)
    • No wizard fortress
    2022:
    • Dern released! It finally completes the Bob storyline in another chain of quests. They are Death Defining, Beast of Dern, and World's End. The level cap is raised to 120. Dern mobs are much more aggressive, with long aggro and lots of teleport and charge spells.
    • Much of the lore is rewritten to be clear and consistent, and to have more characters recur in the story (Like Hamsey and Drale currently do). Notable reappearances include Qira along with her army in...
    • World's End is the "end" of the story, fighting the darkness of Dern after the truth about the Beast is revealed in the previous quest. The soldiers (us!) of Wynn, the golems of Corkus, the army of Qira, and others all set apart their conflicts to ensure the world as we know it isn't consumed. The final battle happens in a dark alternate Detlas, with all the buildings destroyed and walls gone. A fight similar to Underworld Crypt's boss fight, where you send out units to fight instead of slapping the healthbar yourself.
    • Street vendors now sell food items that give basic stat buffs. Scroll merchants also now sell basic buff scrolls.
    • Cities give players regeneration and resistance! Finally.
    • Still no wizard fortress
    2023:
    • A new batch of Major IDs is released. A few: Solar Power (increased stats during day, decreased during night), Devour (Monster's major ID, makes heal do damage and heal based on damage done), Execute (does more damage the lower % hp the enemy is, but also less the higher %)
    • Water Breathing (functionally Respiration) and Swimming (depth strider) become stats.
    • Oceans get more mob spawns and quests.
    • Boats get multiple tiers and are custom coded! Boat trading quickly becomes the new fad and horses are considered lame.
    • Gavel's lakes are reworked into a river system (finally!!!). Boat races are hosted.
    • Gavel also finally gets dungeons, from the Quartz Quarry to the Solitary Swamp and even the Angel's Ascent. The Forgery is reworked into a hub for all dungeons, not just corrupted.
    • Wizard fortress is long forgotten
    2024:
    • Fruma is released as a postgame/(first) epilogue! It isn't the new highest level content, instead having the same level range as Dern (120 cap). Towns appear safe at a glance, but hostiles are everywhere and talking to seemingly harmless merchants is a trap. Soldiers are everywhere, making extended stay difficult. There are fake quest start NPCs that just lead you to a swift death as well! There is also a colosseum for "properly" balanced PvP with a ranked ladder, giving rewards every month.
    • The first quest (Lost Memories) involves making contact with a spy to get through the Imperial Gate. The main questline touches on darker themes, like watching the public execution of the spy and receiving orders to burn down the capital without consideration for civilians. The latter is a choice that splits the quest into two paths that have actual consequences, not just a different reward. Once you make your choice, the questline splits and your experience in Fruma completely changes.
    • The tutorial is reworked to hint at the player's origins right before the wagon trip. Less importantly, professions aren't as emphasized. (Much to the Admins' surprise, people don't care about the former and love the latter.)
    • Barrier blocks are mostly removed, so players can freely travel over mountains. A plugin is used to "push" players away from areas they shouldn't be going to, and the world border still has barrier blocks.
    • Corrupted Legendary Island is released, featuring bosses that weren't in the original LI at a much harder difficulty. YYGAMER beats it nopot with spider build (and technically doesn't do a spider build LI).
    • The Realm of Light is expanded and two quests are made to take place in it. Sadly, both of them are fetch quests.
    • Spells get a massive rework, with each tier of spell becoming an option instead of an upgrade. This allows for much more creativity within each class! For example, arrow storm gets options to either converge, stay divergent, or turn into a single arrow (sniper's shot).
    • Skill Point Perks are implemented but then removed after complaints about balance. A re-implementation is promised, just like how the elemental revamp was...
    • Global raid bosses are added, where a massive damage sponge boss with insanely high HP can be fought. Health is linked across all servers, so everyone can take part. The first one is at the Imperial Gate, a single massive mob that represents the "Fruman Army". The hitbox of the boss is the entire army, while every soldier in it is basically just there for visuals. The army's attacks are large-scale, including a buffed version of arrow storm (arrow rain), many AoE attacks indicated by particles, and a phalanx mode where the army's model changes (shields up, lances out) and the army gains thorns + reflection.
    • Wynn updates to 1.14.4 (remember, I'm trying to be realistic)
    • Not even an april fools joke about wizard fortress
    2025:
    • Bloomi is teased by KGift, the newest admin, and is planned to be released on the 10th anniversary of the original Bloomi suggestion. Community unexpectedly doesn't go wild, since everyone who remembers Bloomi has already quit.
    • Many joke set bonuses are added, making memes like Snow Set + Halation viable in endgame content.
    • Pretzule, LoveLusting, Kvmilla, DCM627, motoki, and other people return for a few weeks and then inevitably leave again
    • Divine becomes the new highest item tier, above Mythic. Yggdrasil is changed from a Unique to a Divine like it deserves :saltedhigh:. Divine items are balanced with an invisible set bonus so only one can be used in a build.
    • The Guild system and leaderboards are completely changed. The amount of guilds is fixed to half the number of territories, and each guild can claim one territory as their permanent home territory. The rest are up for grabs through guild wars, which are no longer boring PvE time wasting but a real time PvP RTS, like the World's End quest but PvP.
    • Planes are added! People abandon boats but then realize planes are the buggiest thing ever and have chunk loading issues.
    • Intelligence no longer affects mana costs, and items are balanced (with -spell cost) appropriately. Instead, it affects spell damage (while strength becomes only melee). Gone are the days where a single stat defines half of the builds!
    • Pokextreme returns as the newest new admin, and immediately reworks agility to make air archer the best.
    • The Factions event finally happens as a massive team PvP battle (no dev time for the other parts). Since PvP still hasn't been balanced, everyone plays archer and goes for oneshots. Escape spam also makes fights extremely uncommon, and chasing all but impossible. It's shut down after the last few remaining players pull multiple all-nighters to stall.
    • Housing unsurprisingly doesn't happen
    • Not even a hot take: Wizard fortress is only popular because of nostalgia and memes (and won't come back... right?)

I realized that this reads more like a list of suggestions than a prediction... was that the point of the thread all along? :O
and if you haven't noticed, 2025 is big joke

Wynncraft? Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. It's called Wynn now, just Wynn. There's a limit to how much you can do in Minecraft after all. The move happened only a few months ago, but I've heard theories that development on the standalone game began in 2021. It feels more like beta cube world than Minecraft. The map is still the same, block by block, but now there's much less loading lag. No more command blocks, no more having to render underground, no more boring attack patterns! Being able to bring out the full potential of the game with proper cutscenes and boss fights that depend more on skill than builds, wynn is probably the easiest MMO to pick up now. Professions were temporarily removed to be reworked, thankfully. Maybe when they come back, they'll be better. The spellcasting is the same as before, but now each spell upgrade is an option, rebalanced to give each class more creativity.

Some general changes and additions include boosted Mythic drop rates (balancing out the prices between rarities and making them more accessible), scrolls to further "identify" items (due to the static SP changes on equipment, the GMs called for a way to make each player's item more unique), damage taken is reduced tremendously while staying in cities (so people stop dying), Loot Quality % is more accessible and the level cap is raised to 130. The levels 102 to 130 will have a sort of skill point system for identifications (e.g. +4% Thunder Damage) that you can reset.

Dern is added and its "dark" feel is enhanced by having the entire area being basically Hunted mode: you lose items upon death, PvP is enabled, but there is no bonus XP from killing mobs or gathering resources. Dern's normal enemies will be much larger, healthy and dangerous than Silent Expanse mobs (with similar stats to the Expanse's Wanderer.) The land is vast and player encounters are not so common because nobody wants to get hit by the mobs or killed by other players, so everyone is either running at super fast speeds or spamming their second spell over the terrain.

Dern also has a dungeon with a super-boss similar to The Eye, but as you can already guess, has been completed numerous times with very limited equipment including the Spider Set. The GMs would find ways to make it truly difficult for those trying to complete the game with newbie equipment while having the game stay playable, such as changing the Agility's dodge to a "parry" so that they still receive damage, but there would be those who squish their ways through with creativity. Then they change it back when they realize everybody hates it.

So what happened to the Hunted mode we saw in the "past"? It still exists, and is now a fun global free-for-all as a sort of incentive for PvP (and old Nether) players. In this new Hunted mode, players will have significantly more health, have their damage dealt balanced around a constant and poison/thorns/reflection effectiveness falls to 25%. The Nether is never added back due to contradictions with the lore, but may be accessed temporarily for a quest.

Fruma is also added and has an attractive city hub for all of the high-leveled players, but the majority of the players still sit in Detlas because of the casualness and nostalgia. The continent also comes with its own "Legendary Island" which has its own strand of rewards from Fabled equipment to Mythic equipment, that are also way too hard to grind for.

I'm betting 10 emeralds that there'll be memes about the current meta and a big redux of Ele Defs Matter which eventually convert even the most stubborn of gamers; even druser shall come to accept their allmighty reign.

Besides that, we'll get weapon skins with so many voxels that they crash the server because literally nobody can decide on what the proper size for an item skin is, the realm of light will continue to be forgotten to the point where nobody even knows the original intent anymore, and there 100% will be a fairyland/candy-themed province that's somehow the endgame content.

2025 Landmass: In 2025, the 1.25 update will bring the first new landmass since the map has been completed. Along the side of the map (where Olux is and going down to where Fruma will be) a new giant continent will be added. It will be accessible via the ocean next to Corkus for level 110+ and will lead to an enormous lake with an expansive forest on one side (stretching up towards Olux, then leading into a lush rainforest. On the other side of the lake will be an arid, desert-y region which eventually leads into a mountainous area.

2025 Quests: Revamps, Fruma quests, Dern quests and main storyline quests will all be in the game and in 2025, quests will be added to fill the new landmass. Also, the new level cap is 120 (121).

2025 Additions: 1. The will be in-game minigames similar to other MMORPGs, such as the ability to challenge an NPC to a game, like gambling or a skill-based minigame.
    2. Another addition will be achievements. Achievements are generally incremental (e.g. play for 10 hours, 25 hours, 100 hours etc. Or kill 100, 500, 1000 mobs etc.) but there will also be a lot of one off achievements for doing something unique in the world, this might be reaching Ahmsord at level 1. Achievements will be cosmetic only but the player can select a completed achievement to be visible above their head like a health bar.
    3. Skill trees. Skill trees will allow players to really customise their classes. With skill trees, a player could cater for a spell-only warrior, a close-range archer or make a mage's heal OP at the cost of having spell damage lowered dramatically.
