Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"This sounds like if Xlentia was slightly more competent and way bitchier." I comment, sounding annoyed.

"We'll have to figure out how to translate to whatver 'Dacori' is too..." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

“All due respect, the hour is drawing near. I can’t stay here any longer.” Silver says, flipping about half the book worth of pages at once to keep up his guise. “I wish you luck and wish I could do more.”

 

"Thanks." I say, waving, seeming to go into thought.

"Do you know where we could find a translator?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

“If you know anyone here who hails from this reality, they may be able to help.”

 

"Ihra, probably." I shrug.

Shadow Stephanie nods in agreement.

 

Silver looks you over curiously before turning away.
"May we all get through this safely." He says, before the rift moves back into its normal spot in the void library.

 

Shadow Stephanie lets out a sigh, while I seem to be lost in thought.

"We'd need some kind of bait to lure Ihra back here, she ran off last I saw her." I say, thinking.

"How would we go about baiting her when we can't access the other reality anymore?" Shadow Stephanie asks, arms crossed.

"I don't know...pray to Tenebrae or Gaia to get them to bring her here?" I suggest.

Shadow Stephanie gives an unamused look.

 

Nobody comes even in sight of the rift.

 

I head back into the palace - hoping to find Artemis - while Shadow Stephanie watches the rift for a bit, before heading back into the palace too.

A while later, Artemis tries to reach out to Ihra.

 

If either of you walk by the prayer room, you'd notice Rineth laying idly off to the side.

"Are you about ready to go? Iris is getting impatient." She replies.

 

"We need your help," Artemis responds, "There's a new monarchy in place in the void palace, and they've threatened war on our reality. We need a speaker of dacori to reason with them, or even access the void palace anymore, and you're the only person we'd think would speak it."

 

Ihra sighs.
"Look, I'm sorry. I'd love to help you out, but I can't just ditch this platoon mid-fight. There's other people over there that speak Dacori, you could try Amber or something."
"Lady Ihra, behind us!" A soldier calls, Ihra seeming having linked you to a web of telepathic connections.
"Press on, I'll cover the flank!" She responds.
"You heard her! Get moving!"
"Any one of you to their doors is a win for us, we're not making it out and you know it!" A commander shouts.
"Aye! Carve your marks on history, make this count!"
The link is filled with determined shouts, before Ihra starts filtering Artemis away from them.
"Artemis, I'll get in position for our sting op after this. I'm sorry." She sighs, before closing the connection.

 

Artemis seems a little disappointed.

"Who was Amber again?" I ask through Artemis.

"I believe she was the undead one." Artemis says, getting up from her giant flower and heading out of the greenhouse.

"We can't access the other reality, so I suppose we're stuck looking here for her then." I say.

"We should check burial grounds and graveyards. If she's undead, she's probably with her kind." Artemis says, aiming for an elevator.

 

Ihra seems to have left a small list of possible candidates, though she neglected to locate any of them;
Amber, Amethyst, Linoa, Miorah, Rineth, Rose, and Gaia.

 

Upon getting to the end of the list, Artemis heads to the prayer room, looking for Rineth.

 

Rineth is sitting idly at the edge of the room, laying down looking more like a statue than a living thing.

 

Artemis heads over to Rineth.

"Rineth?" Artemis asks softly.

 

He opens one eye, turning slightly to her.
"Yes?"

 

"Do you speak Dacori?" Artemis asks sweetly.

 

"...native... tongue... obvious... insult?" He grumbles, in Dacori.
