What Happened To The Search Function In The Bank?

There used to be a search thing for the bank so you could quickly find items. This was really helpful for me because my bank isn't organized at all. You used to be able to click a compass in the side bar of the bank menu and would then be able to type item names in chat to find something. When I opened my bank the other day, however, the compass just wasn't there. The "dump all worn equipment" and "dump inventory except for hotbar" was there, but the spot where the compass used to be was just blank.


So, I don't know if this is a glitch or if it was purposely removed, maybe because of a bug or something, like the trade market?

How can you live with such a bank

 

This is why I need the search function. I lost an item I needed for a quest for a month in that bank and went through it twelve times and couldn't find it, then the search function was finally added and I was able to get it back from my bank. So please, will the search function be added back? I'm desperate.

 

Just some speculative ideas, but it could be that
1. An exploit was found with the feature, and it had to be disabled until it's patched out.
2. It was temporarily taken down for fixing due to it being able to delete players' items under specific conditions.
3. Some people have complained about the bank's search algorithm being bad since it searches for items' real names instead of displayed names, and can't search for partial words. It could be undergoing a revamp to make it more like trade market.
4. It was permanently removed due to unpopularity, performance, or any of the aforementioned reasons.
5. It's just a bug.

The search feature was removed intentionally as it had numerous issues. I can understand that it was likely very useful, but unfortunately it is unlikely to be added back.

 

It still eats items. When you shift click an item up to a full bank it will go to that slot and iirc there’s no way the item can be taken back again

That has also been resolved for the next patch.

That just means that the next patch (if there is one) will have that fix in it.
