"Do you not worship any gods where you come from?" Praecantatia asks.

 

"Many do. I know they exist, most in the area ignore common thugs and those that don't tend to be worse."

 

"So, they've done nothing to aid you?" Praecantatia asks, suspicious.

 

"They've contributed towards making things harder for us, but I'd say that no they've done nothing to aid us. The ones that usually help a bit are caught up in a war, at least."

 

"I suppose that would be the case in times of conflict..." Praecantatia trails off, thinking, "Well, you're free to leave and explore my islands if you wish. I can arrange travel home for you once you want to leave, though I can't do much else to help until the meeting."

 

"I really shouldn't just ditch Thirteen."

 

"I would advise going to find him. I'm sure he's quite confused by your sudden disappearance." Praecantatia says, nodding.

 

"He won't exactly like this, but I don't feel like running around a place I don't know..." Scurn mumbles.

A peripheral hologram notifies you that Levi's trying to reach you, albeit less invasively than the first time.

 

"If you get lost, just call to Fia to come help you. She can guide you back here, or to wherever you want to go." Praecantatia explains.

 

"I didn't expect Levi to be able to reach this far, but he can. Idhaenna's tech is nuts... Just gonna have him page Thirteen and guide me. Thanks, though." Scurn says.

 

"Safe travels." Praecantatia says sweetly, but dismissively.

 

Scurn glances at his dagger as he slips out of the room.

 

It seems to be a little stronger with the potent magic surrounding the islands, though is otherwise unaffected.

Scurn ends up bumping into a young woman as he glances at his dagger. She appears to look like a much younger, more human-like Praecantatia, her hair only purple at the ends, and black elsewhere.

"Oh, sorry!" Stephanie apologises, before slipping past Scurn.

 

Scurn's body converts to a liquid form as he simply reforms on the other side of Stephanie.
"Well that explains a lot about you..." He mumbles as he continues on.

 

Stephanie glances back, a little offended, but heads into Praecantatia's study regardless.

Scurn passes a couple of other mortals as he leaves Praecantatia's home, the first being a girl with fiery orange-red hair, and another being a slightly more demonic girl with a third, red eye that seems to watch him as he passes; making him feel unnerved, like something bad is going to happen. It's eeriness is only made more disturbing by the fact the girl seems to be asleep, too.

Once Scurn reaches the front door, he notices one of the totems that dispense the size-changing potion, reminding him he's still big.

 

Scurn pauses upon seeing the fiery-haired girl.
"You wouldn't happen to be Abigail, would you?"

 

"Who's asking?" Abigail asks.

 

"That's as much of a yes as I was expecting." Scurn chuckles. "I'm Scurn, naga spellthief. Considering you're here, I'm guessing the person I just bumped into was indeed Stephanie."
He stretches a bit.
"Anyhow, I really should get back to Thirteen before he thinks I'm stealing stuff. I assume I'll see your friends at some point soon, unless you've taken to water as of late."

 

"Mmhmm, see you." Abigail says, uncaring.

 

"Tell Katie that she shouldn't carry her trident around O'rogal's domain openly. Someone'll steal it - and I intentionally omitted try." Scurn says, continuing.
