So.

Wynncraft: 1.19 Update.

The Silent Expanse or Road to Dern.



Update, which contains BIG STORYLINE PUZZLE and mentioned before Gavel Expansion.

THIS STORYLINE PUZZLE around which the WHIRL OF THEORIES revolved.

THE MOST FUNNY THEORIES were connected with this STORYLINE PUZZLE...



In the Changelog of this update we learn that The Silent Expanse has been abandoned and hidden for so long it's history has almost been completely wiped out.

That's right. ALMOST. NOT COMPLETLY.

And this is mean, that we can solve the history of this location on remains of Olmic Race and their Forgotten Civilization.

So, let's start with the MOST IMPORTANT THING. Something around which everything revolved until The Silent Expanse:



- Ancients, and The Eye.

Let's start from Ancients:



The First Time, when we saw Ancients - it's been until Gavel Expansion, on Enderman Island.
In this Island we solve "pre-version of the Ancients" - Dern Emigrants.



The Emigrants located on this Black-Spiked Island, which is quite familiar to the Dern Atmosphere.

Later in WynnExcavation Site D they represented like "Ancients" in their Underground City.



And signs discovered from Ancient Prison trying to represent us to VERY BAD SITUATION..

But some signs trying lead us to something more.. even Wynn Province cannot expect..

"WE CANNOT ESCAPE THE EYE.. I DOUBT WE ARE SAFE EVEN HERE.." or "HE SEES ALL FROM THE SHADOW... THE EYE IS MORE THAN A SYMBOL."





But when i started investigate Ancient Prison, i found VERY INTERESTING SIGN:



"IT'S NOT DARKNESS... IT'S *@#% --"
It's not Darkness. As we know, Dern - it's a Realm of Darkness.
So, i think it's Time.
And i have a theory about this sign:

- Theory: Dern - it's a Realm, where the laws of time work differently? Does Time run there faster? Or slower?...

But this sign fragment have POINT OF VERY INTEREST IN WYNNCRAFT LORE..

"WE HAVE MADE IT FROM THE DARK LANDS", "WE HAVE SETTLED IN THIS JUNGLE BUT WE KNOW WE DO NOT BELONG.", "OUR KNOWLEDGE OF MAGIC IS FAR BEYOND THIS PROVINCE."



But there is a one unexplored fragment:
"THE MAGIC WE HARNESSED TO ESCAPE... I DON'T THINK IT WAS WISE TO TAMPER WITH IT. IT HAS DRIVEN MANY OF US INSANE.."



What magic did they use?

To understand this, we need to explore this fragment:
"WE MUST SEAL AWAY THE POWER. HIDE IT ACROSS THE GLOBE. IT SHOULD NEVER BE USED. WE SHOULD HAVE NEVER USED IT. IF ONLY WE HAD MORE TIME."



But. What power? What horrendous form of powder lies in Dern?

This is a Famous "Fourth Crystals".
Yellow. Blue. Red and Green.​

As you see, Ancients used the Magic of Fourth Crystals and escaped from Dern and The Eye. After this machinations they settled in Dernel Jungle with their knowledge of magic...

What secret they have? In their Origin.

In 1.17 in Discovery of Wynn Plains: Timeless Ruin, after we put Last Red Gemstone in Pillar. And after this action opens entrance to Underground Location, which leads to end of this Discovery.

And at the exit stood a dead soilder, and he tells his last words on Wynnic Language:

"The Olm cannot survive here, IT is coming for us."


That was the first time, when Wynncraft mentioned another race: The Olms.

And this is "IT" symbolizes about some kind of creature. But what creature?

The Eye.

So. Next qustion: "Who is that "The Eye"? "

And we got answers in a few forms:

- Form №1: Bob mentioned The Eye in Sealed Letters to Nilrem.


- Form №2: The Olm mentioned him like "The Monster from Beyond".

- Form №3: The Eye mentioned in Discovery: The Final Moments like a "Beast from an Unknown Realm".

- Form №4: Slykaar mentioned him like a "Dark God. Source of Power."


- From №5: The Ancients (or The Olm) mentions him like "Watcher from the Shadow." or "The Eye is more, than a symbol.."

- Form №6: Silent Expanse: Ultimate Discovery. Let me explain:
In the Final Discovery of Silent Expanse we see The Eye in his beauty. Dernic body. Claws on hand and elbows. But MOST INTERESTING THING - An Eye was implanted in his body. And when Bak'al says: "You cannot possibly intend to leave?" - The Eye tears itself away from its body.

But. We have interesting point in this Discovery:

When Bak'al asking The Eye about leaving his Throne Room.
It leads to some conclusion: The Eye has been locked in Dern.

But why he locked in Dern?

Remember Memory Paranoia quest, when we saw, how Mr. Caritat do "something dark":

"HE WHO STARTED THE WAR SHALL RISE ONCE MORE. FROM THE REALM OF SHADOWS, DECEIT AND PAIN. FOREVER TRAPPED, FROM WHENCE HE CAME. THROUGH THE WEAK POINT BETWEEN REALMS HE. WILL. RISE. AGAIN!"

So. Next Question about this: "How The Eye has been locked in Dern?"

- Theory: Bob trapped him with his own life force before he wrote to Nilrem a letter.

So. Next question: "Where is "The Eye" came from?"

- Theory: He came from Dern with his Fully Form (That Black Monster from Silent Expanse's Secret).

But this is really?

In new Update we got answer from The Final Moments Discovery:

"Shortly after the portal broke into this hidden land, a beast from an unknown realm laid siege to the city forcing the Olm to his domain."

- Theory: When The Olm entered Dern itself, they saw Fourth Crystals. Yellow. Blue. Red and Green.
The Magic of Fourth Crystals driven them to insanity... and they become the Ancients..

So. Next Question: Who is this "Beast, from an Unknown Realm"?

- Theory: This Beast - The Eye. And he from Dern, The Land of Darkness.

You have no doubt. The questions are still unanswered. And I will answer them. Just wait for this.

So. Next Question: What did the Olm do to have a Portal to Dern?

- Theory №1: History from Mythic Weapon "Az": "Mysterious runes, held by inexplicable ancient guardians, were once moulded together for study purposes. The experiment went awry, as the runic words Nii, Az, and Ek were combined in a reaction that resulted in the collapse of a civilization."
- Theory №2: They are used Fourth Crystals, and broke Borders between Dern and Our World.

But Theory №2 is false, because in A Wynnic Excavation two Miners found some "Fourth Crystals", which came from Another World. (Obviously, it's Dern.)
And they transported these "Fourth Crystals" around Our World and hide in Four Locations of WynnExcavation's Quests.

I think Theory №1 is true, because The Olm have unbelievable knowledge in magic, and they can know about this Runes.

But when we fight with The Eye, when we not sucsseded to kill Deathknell Wretch, The Eye tells in special language: BEIDHTU IMITHE OMO RADHARC.


Or when we kill Eldritch Outlook Key Guardian: BEIDH ME AG SUIL LEAT.


But who dare Bak'al in Silent Expanse: Ultimate Discovery?

In Ultimate Discovery we saw That Black Monster (probably The Eye), but when we fighting him, he use some kind of Telepathic Language.

Why Telepathic?

But how he can connect with us, after killing Eldritch Outlook Key Guardian?

Answer is: He have telepathic abilities.

And so. We can know, who is this "The Eye".

So. The Olms. Civilization, until they become Ancients.

Who were the Olms before they became the Ancients?

To understand this, you need to read one of this signs in the Ancient Prison:
"OUR KNOWLEDGE OF MAGIC IS FAR BEYOND THIS PROVINCE."


Anyway, how did the Ancients know about Wynn?

And also we were given to understand that one of the Ancients even stole her child..

But.. who were the Olms from histories of Silent Expanse's Discvoeries?

- Theory: Until the days of Dern, they had a Civilization, whose experiment on runes brought collapse to their lands.

The Destructive Combination of the Rune Words of Nii, Ek, Az led to the collapse of civilization and the Portal to Dern appeared.

So.

Bob.



The Pure Hero of Wynn. But his origins... Dernic of Olmic?

And the Question is: "Who is Bob's Mother and Father?"

On this question many people theorized about Dernic Origins of Bob.

Why are you think about Dernic Origins of Bob? He doesn't have a Dernic Origins..

Look at the Ancients. They are Endermans. Enderman have black skin, purple eyes - all is related to Dern Thematic.
And look at the Bob. He have a Gray Skin. Not the black.
And the Olmic Civilization have a Gray Skin too.
We also know about Bob's Mother that she did not say where she came from. She didn’t even pronounce her name...

Merging of this facts from Ragni's Secret Library we can create a theory about his Origins:

- Theory: Bob's Mother is from Olmic Lands, not from Dern.

Honestly, before the Silent Expanse i was thinking about Dernic Origins of Bob, but.. The Olms appeared. And i got doubt about "Bob is from Dern Theory".

So, i make this conclusion:

Bob - Half-Olm and Half-Human.

So. Move on..

When i writted this theory, i started investigate some facts what i missed.

And, i found interesting find.

You know Amadel, right?

After collecting Fourth Crystals, he take shards, and merged them.
After merging, he got some "Ancient Elements"...

The most interesting part of the find begins with the battle with Amadel.

Look at Amadel, after killing his two Full Forms:



Yes. YES. YES! And again - Yes.
Magic of Fourth Crystals turn it into the same as the Ancients.

Do you understand? this is the perfect proof, how the Olmic Civilization turned into the Ancients...

So. Move on.

DERN, the land of Darkness. The land of Night, far off Dark Lands, Realm of Shadows, and tons of various dark-like epithets...

But:

What is a Dern?

After I watched a video, which contains a Leaked Footage of Old Silent Expanse's Map, i came up with the theory that Dern is Realm of Darkness. Of course, this did not happen right away.

But someone still thinks Dern is a Province..

It is not a Province, remember this. In Wynncraft Official Site they have a section about 1.19 Update.

And when we see text about the Silent Expanse, we got this information: "Explore the desolated area that once belonged to the Wynn Province. Now completely controlled by The Realm of Dern".

The Realm of Dern - NOT A PROVINCE. Remember this. Once, and for All.

Uhhh... So. Next Question: "Did we entered Dern "before The Silent Expanse" and "after The Silent Expanse"? "

Answer: Yes.

- Form №1: Fantastic Voyage. We are entered in Strange Realm with same Dern Thematic.

- Form №2: Otherworldly Occurence. We fell out of the Void, and we falling to Dern. It explains with lore of this Discovery: "The connection between our world and the other realms has been shattered and warped as The War of Corruption evolved."


- Form №3: Silent Expanse's Secret. It is assumed that Bak'al came to Dern to the Throne Room of "That Black Monster" in order to pay for the faliure.

So.

Many people still think that The Olms are not the Ancients.

But I will prove the opposite to you.

- Proof №1: How this Monster (probably the Eye) from Ultimate Discovery knows about The Olm, and mention them like "Race without Hope".
- Proof №2: How The Ancients knows about Wynn Province?
- Proof №3: Why show “The Eye” at all against the background of some Ancients?
- Proof №4: How are The Olms related to Dern and The Eye?

If you still not believe me, i ask a Question:

Why first show The Ancients who tried to escape from The Eye, and then in The Silent Expanse show some kind of The Olmic Civilization?

The answer is that they are The Ancients. Now we are investigating issues, and we can end this theory.

Are you investigating issues? Yes, you can imagine, even after The Update so important for the Storyline, questions remain. They are as follows:

1. Legendary Mistress of the Hive - Qira. Do she have relations to Dern?

2. Origins of Bob and his Mother & Father.

3. What happened to Olmic Civilization? Does the Runic Experiment from Az' Lore related to The Olms?


4. Who ripped The Eye from Dark Body? That Black Monster - it's a Another Character or it still The Eye?


5. What happens to The Silent Expanse when we killed The Eye, according to prophecy:
"And the Hero shall blind the Ancient Seer. Good luck."

6. Who stays at the Portal to Dern? The Portal Keeper?


7. Did Bob use The Sacrifice Method on Eldritch Outlook's Gate (like Aledar) to kill The Eye?

8. How Portal to Dern arrived on Olmic Lands?


9. Who built The Eldritch Outlook?

10. Who traded boots called "Abysso Galoshes" ?

11. Adan and Kaen - descendants of Anya, The Olmic Oracle?

12. How Bak'al become a Leader of Corruption?

13. Which moment of storyline The Order of the Grook experimented on Dern's Creatures?


And so. We have reached the end of the Theory.

Questions still remain, you can’t do without it.
But they will be revealed at the moment when the update related to Dern comes out. Keep in mind that he will not be released soon. There are still a lot of adjustments to Wynncraft...

Hey, this part is in Irish Gaelic, oddly enough... Well, it can be parsed into Irish Gaelic. Spaces and stuff (like diacritical marks in Irish) are a bit messed up in the eye/key guardian's speak, presumably because it's not possible to type those things into Wynnic.

"Beidh tú imithe ó mo radharc" - You will be gone from my view/sight

"Beidh mé ag súil leat" - I will be expecting you

I noticed these a while ago but didn't feel they were of much significance.

Hopefully it can add something?

EDIT: NPCs/bosses saying shit in weird languages is nothing new to Wynn - I believe someone speaks some stuff in Welsh in Eye of the Storm, but I'm not fully sure.

The point you made about Amadel is interesting, as I had forgotten that was one of his forms (Plus you state where your getting your information from so that is nice).

Reading through all this actually cleared a lot of confusion I didn't know I still had in my head! Like about the Olms and Ancients, Bob's "origin", and the gate to Dern!
You thought this through pretty well, and this all has some very good connections, making a lot of sense. I wonder what parts or how much of it is true, it would be so interesting to see where this is going.

Interesting thread, but the Dernic Beast that Bob was gonna fight was probably the creature that the Eye originated from.
In the final Silent Expanse secret discovery, we see this Dernic Beast rip out his eye, and tell Bak’al to put the Eye where he will be able to watch over the Silent Expanse.
I don’t think the Eye was controlling the Dernic Beast before he ripped it out, but it got its own conscience when he ripped it out.

Oh, and the lore for the bow “Az”, all that happened in Gavel.
You can still find Nii rune guardians, but only in Gavel.

 

This is an epic thread, and I wish I had the patience to figure it out. Do we know why Bob has grey skin though? I feel that is a big part of his backstory.

 

We think it’s because he has Olmic origins

 

But is there any proof of that? Was his mother Olmic? Who was his father? (Maker of thread asked the second one)

 

My theory was that the civilization mentioned in Az lore was the civilization who inhabited the Nether, since Runes are used to access alternate realities where the world is corrupted, I assume this civilization did the same, but the Corruption seeped through into their world and left it in ruins, with all its civilians becoming the first ever corrupteds that the miners later freed when mining for emeralds.

His mother is never described as having grey skin or purple eyes, which are qualities of the Olm, his father could be anyone, the most recent Olm I can think of would be the one seen in the Timeless Ruin discovery, but he has some different features, like lighter skin and grey eyes, this is most likely what a Olm looks like when it's near death, since the Olm suddenly loses its life force with a spark of purple, now whether the Eye is causing this or the Crystalites isn't clear.

 

No proof as of now but as I said, it’s what we THINK

 

Might there be a few olm that hadn't managed to come through from dern, due to the 'Time shifting' stuff around dern? They could've escaped from the SE but died of exertion plus the weakness the SE makes you feel.

 

Um, you do realize they built Time Valley, right?
