What's The Point Of "ancient's Grasp" (uproot Spell Upgarde)

    Uhh, yeah, so Shaman has a cool spell called Uproot and it has a upgrade called Ancient's Grasp, and I have no idea how to utilize it or what's its point, like seriously how do you use this!?

    Usually when casting Uproot it appears for like 2 seconds, there's absolutely NO TIME to move it around, I expected it to maybe as the name implies to make it so Uproot GRABS mobs and fling them backwards, but it literally makes it so you can rotate a spell only visible for 2 seconds, who thought this was a good idea? It makes no sense at all, you could say I'm nitpicking but what is the point of this spell upgrade, it's just... dumb

    It's a nerf to the spell. There's literally zero benefit to controllable Uproot - it goes through walls anyway.

    It's still handy when you sling an uproot to literally nowhere near the mobs you intended to hit.

    Besides, no clue.

    The fact the stupid spell goes through walls and when I angle it toward the ground it misses half the time shows just how terrible it is.

    It's better to just shoot into the air if you wanna recharge your Totem

    I like that you can guide it and actually think that if the spell exploded when it hit a block/mob it would be quite good. but like...it doesn't hit well over half the time...

    Yeah the spell needs to stop when hitting blocks or going through a mob, but there is a plus to this, recently people have been reporting of mobs getting stuck in walls very frequently, for example in the Hive boss rooms has this chunk of elevated terrain and if you used Aura between the elevation, you can get the boss stuck inside the ground, yup, you can literally bury Qira and forget that she exists, heal up, and then Uproot her out. Also another thing about it not stopping when going through a mob is because if you Uproot a mob at close range you're just gonna kill yourself

    imagine using shift to push close mobs away from you only for it to go through and you die anyway...

    Here's a little suggestion:
    Remove Ancient's Grasp and make it so Uproot gives you 2 second of invincibility so you don't get one-shotted when you Uproot CoW

    It is VERY abusable, especially on poison builds where uproots lower damage doesn’t matter

    Tbh, that doesn't sound bad. But 2sec is a bit overkill imo. Probably for 0.75sec would be fair

    I'd recommend downward, but yeah.

    I would agree that Uproot should trigger upon hitting a block, though likely a bit tough to code.

    It would also be nice if Uproot could move mobs sideways instead of primarily forward/backward, so that you could actually use it as intended - to move mobs and/or your totem around in a useful way.

    Pretty sure that was the intended use of Ancient's Grasp but the spell is just a little janky

    Do you mean making the mobs hit slower? The Haul spell makes mobs hit 60% slower so you mobs don't just kill you when Hauling, there's no point for Shaman to freeze mobs in place since the Aura cage always keeps mobs inside the Totem, and besides the invincibility is meant to act as a failsafe if you accidentally Uproot a mob into your face.

    Because uproot would cause the poison damage and you wouldn’t take any damage so you would be doing crazy dps with basically no downside

    Oof, but the entire point of the invincibility boost was not intended to be like that, but as Twin said it should be 0.75 sec to not be abused
