Community Event The Golden Battle Royal [~10stx In Prizes!]

Welcome to the Golden Battle Royal!
A free for all of lvl 33 hunted classes competing for over 2 000 000 emeralds in prizes!

Requirements:
To participate in this event, you must:​

• Have at least one lvl 103+ class
• Be a member of a guild
  • Any guild -- if you aren't in one, you can join/make one for the event.
• You must be the only member of your guild participating.
  • If not, you must be willing to temporarily leave your guild 2 mins before the event.
  • You do not need to be a member of a guild for the duration of the event.
• Have completed the quest "A Hunter's Calling" on at least one of your classes.
• Have a free slot available with which to create a new class.

How to Participate:
To participate in this event, you must:​

• Fill out this form to help with organization
  • Not strictly necessary, but appreciated nonetheless.
• Create a new class locked to the ⚔️ Hunted Gamemode and level it to 33
  • This can be any class, including shaman.
    
  • (TIP: the "Grave Digger" quest is quite helpful for leveling)
• After you get to lvl 33, use /guild xp 100 whenever you play on your class.
  • Lvl 34 classes will be disqualified.
• Complete the "Meaningful Holiday" quest on your class.
• Design a build with which to compete
  • (TIP: some pretty interesting crafted stuff is possible in the low levels; for instance, it is possible to craft a lvl 21 warrior that does 3-5k uppercuts)

• After submitting the form, you will be added to a discord group with which we will choose a date
  • We are tentatively considering Saturday, January 25th
  • If we get enough interest, there will probably be an EU timeslot.
  • If you want to be added to that group as a spectator, use this link.
• We will meet in Detlas on a server to be announced in the aforementioned discord group.
• If you are not the only member of your guild participating, you will need to temporarily leave your guild as to allow pvp with your guildmate(s).
• You will need to temporarily unfriend everyone participating in the event.
  
• Following a cross-platform announcement, everyone will enter at the same moment and begin.
  • The timing of this will be monitored, and after a grace period, all players who have not entered the venue will be disqualified
  • The order in which people die will be determined by chat logs; the last 2 players who die, as well as the player who survives, will be declared the winners.

The Venue:
This event will take place in the the banquet hall from "Meaningful Holiday".
We will meet up in Detlas' "Rusty Recruit" bar at [432, -1530].​

The Rules:
The following rules will be enforced to the best of our abilities for the duration of the event.
All rules will be enforced through chat logs and several camera alts.​

• Do not enter the venue before the starting announcement.
  
• Do not enter the venue after the event has started
  • A 5 second grace period will be enforced).
• Do not use a lvl 34+ class
  • You will be disqualified if at any point your character reaches lvl 34.
• If you die, do not return to the venue until after the event is over.
• Do not team with others.
• Do not push players into the kitchen area at the back of the venue.
  
• Do not enter the kitchen area at the back of the venue.
  • Doing so will result in disqualification

1st prize will go to the surviving player, 2nd to the last to die, and 3rd to the second last to die.

This seems pretty interesting, I don't know if I'll be able to make it but I'll try to, a prize pool that big (170 le / 48 le / 24 le is quite a bit) seems like it's at least worth a try. Guess I should stop leveling my HICH class for a while, seeing as it's right in this level range, haha.

Also, is spectating the match on a non hunted allowed?

 

If the server slots aren't needed for participants, and if spectators stay within a centralized place, I am tempted to say yes.
That said, I plan on live streaming the event on discord, so in-person spectating probably won't be necessary.

I have been developping my own version idea of a wynn battle royale so i am excited for this. However I do question the choice of arena. feels small, easy to cheat(running back in anyway) and easy to fuckup(kitchen at the back).

Hopefully some other non-hostile island or span of area was considered as well, since i do have doubts on the banquet hall.

Hey InteriorCamping, cool stuff ^^

 

When selecting the venue, we analyzed every area of the map accessible to level 33 characters, including every build from every <35 quest in the game.
From that analysis, we concluded the banquet hall was our best choice for the following reasons:

• This venue borders a safe zone, which makes starting the event much easier from an administrative perspective.
• This venue only has two entrances, both of which can easily be monitored.
  • Several camera alts will be used to moderate every entrance to the event; even if someone re-enters the event, they will not be in consideration for the prizes.
    • Even if someone re-enters the event, and is somehow missed by the cameras, the chat logs will still reveal them adding redundancy.
  • The kitchen area is outlined near a semi-circle of stone bricks and only occupies part of the back wall; it would be very difficult to enter it on accident.
    • To add redundancy, we will be using a chain of untradable items to further denote the area.
• This venue has no hostile mobs, and has a minimal passive mob density.
• This venue is completely enclosed by walls, which makes moderation much easier.
• This venue's size is within the death message limit, which makes chat logs usable for moderation.
  
• This venue is by far the largest flat and unimpeded area accessible at the lvl 33 level range.
  • In total, the venue is slightly larger than half the size of Detlas.

 

What if I push people to the kitchen with knockback spells like multihit and uproot and get them disqualified?

 

can we go back to the time where we used LE and EB and not number of emeralds?

because i have no idea how much 1 million of emeralds is...

 

Giving it a bit more thought I can sorta see why you picked this as an arena, mostly for it's symmetry and fairness in terrain, Altough I still have some comments on it.

-Using the chat log to double check if someone reentered the arena does make it a lot harder to get away with it, as having a person to guard the entrance almost feels obsolete as assasin could probably still sneak in. Having the location be accesible from a safe area is a bit of a double edges sword for this as well.
- Have you considered places in areas above level 35? i understand this involves some risk, but a simple pilgrimage to a lvl 50-60 area or even higher could open up a lot more options.

-What was the issue with some of the islands? The unfair terrain? if that's the reason then I probably understand.

Well if you die you can still take revenge by killing the killer.
Also some ppl could be /classing till like 5 players are alive and could get way with it.
People could use spells to knock someone into the kitchen.
Before the event Starts theres no Peaceful mode (you can kill players even before the event starts)
Theres gonna be at least team (2+ people not killing each other).

 

What does the Gold/Silver/Bronze medal mean?

I haven’t started SE quests yet though, and won’t be around that Saturday, so I probably won’t be participating.
