What Happened To My Vet Rank?

I bought vip+ ages and ages ago, and at some point vip+ became vet. My PC basically died, so I wasn't able to play for a while- a few years now probably. I finally got a new system, looking forward to getting back into some of the things I did before like Wynncraft. However, I log in to the servers to find...nothing. I have nothing to my account, not vet, not vip, nothing to show I ever supported the game or any of the things I had for doing so. I didn't expect my characters to still exist, but I did expect to still be able to use my vet status to play the variant classes like hunter. It's not the biggest deal, but to me its jarring that it isn't there.

 

Perhaps you possibly used a different minecraft account to play wynncraft. When looking at your player stats, it says you first joined the server 9 hours ago and only have a level 2 Shaman. If what you say is true, it most likely happened on a different minecraft account.

 

I can't have used a different account, as I've only ever purchased minecraft once. My thoughts are that maybe it has to do with the mojang acquisition and microsoft messing with how things are set up. The only thing I've had to do on this account in recent times was "migrate" it to the mojang account server in order to keep my purchase of minecraft relevant. The last time I was able to play minecraft was 1.12, that may also have something to do with it. Things on the back end of wynncraft likely have changed a lot and I have been inactive for a fair while, so it wouldn't be surprising if that had an effect too. The main thing here is I'd like Vet back so I can rebuild my hunter. Only way I can do that is if the people in charge re-grant me it.

Edit: it'd also prove that I was at very least here that long by looking at my forum trophies, I got "addicted member" for over 730 days of existing as an account when I logged onto the forums to make the original post.

 

Did you change your IGN? Or perhaps you got banned? I don't know or want to judge, I'm just trying to help

That wouldn't surprise me, is there any way to contact the wynncraft team or bring the issue to their attention more directly do you know? I know forums in most cases aren't the best way to get the attention of the teams working on the game or server.

I may have, however its been so long I can't remember if I changed it before or after the migration. I've not touched it recently. I do remember the name I had before this if the wynncraft team needs it though.

 

I believe the staff will want proof that you purchased the rank. So you you could email [email protected] with proof that you bought the rank before the EULA (mob update) changed.

 

I've sent off an email explaining what the best guesses are here as to what happened to the rank, and asked them what proof they would need to restore it. Here's to hoping this works out.

That's an okay guess, however minecraft (and mc servers) don't store player data under their usernames, but instead under their UUID's. So even if you have migrated, or changed your name recently then you should still have your rank. Your situation is weird because no one ever just receives a full account wipe randomly, so everyone would be first to assume you're playing on the wrong account, which you denied. So in that case, you're either lying or your account must've been wiped. The only thing to do is to contact support, and when you do provide proof of previously being a donator + have it before EULA. I don't think they'll take screenshots so you will have to look for your paypal receipt so they can search it up on their end.

Also, having VET doesn't really matter unless you just want the different prefix. It doesn't change anything, however having VIP/VIP+/HERO gives you access to classes like hunter etc.

 

It's worth noting that a similar bug regularly happen with very old ban appeals when players change their usernames.

 

If that's happening, it's probably likely that wynncraft are deleting data of players who have been banned for many years. That could also be why OP had their account wiped, but I'm confident that if he contacted wynn support he would be able to get his rank back.

The catch here is, I had VIP+ before Vet- I just came back one day and had Vet instead of VIP+. I still had access to my stuff, from VIP+ so I'd assumed at the time it was just a change for old vip or vip+ into vet as they changed one thing or another. If it's just a time rank, then I don't care much about that- just my ability to choose hunter over archer. The rest of the classes, I don't really care about to be honest. And I have been in contact with support, trying to sort this out- problem is, my bank and paypal don't go back 5-7 years (when I bought it). I have no emails with receipts from wynncraft or buycraft either, unless they had a part in acorns to saplings (I don't even remember what that was). I feel it likely I deleted it thinking I'd never need it again, but adult me is screaming on the inside for my foolishness.

Well, I can't say I was banned but I was absent for a fair few years; I haven't played since windows borked its own file system so hard it couldn't fix itself. Since then I've been on linux on my pc, but its been degrading over time so I didn't bother to try and play games on it. Best guess as to when that happened was probably 3 years ago or around there.

I wasn't banned, but was absent for a long time. It could have just been I was deemed inactive and deleted to conserve server space. Its an unfortunate thing, but not much to be done for it.

 

I'm pretty sure if you contacted support they *may* be able to lookup your purchase if you give them the paypal email you donated with. You could also try logging into your mail and searching for wynncraft as when you purchase items with paypal, you get an email with the receipt. Also, VET isn't a different rank from any donator rank, it's just a prefix given to players who purchased a rank before the EULA changes which you can toggle. Now, since you said you just want your rank back for the hunter class, I should probably mention that the hunter class does not have any actual changes to the way archer works besides cosmetic changes. It is the same class just makes the spells look a little different.

Lastly, wynncraft wont just delete data of a player to conserve space. It would make sense if they did it with players who are permanently banned, but for normal players they wouldn't delete it. A player's data shouldn't take up much space either, so if they were running low they would probably just upgrade their limits.

 

Good news, their support team found out the account was banned due to their transfer policy apparently. They've restored vet and VIP+. Thanks all for the replies, between suggestions as to what may have happened and otherwise.
