I feel like this guide would be useful to people contemplating or playing the Ironman challenge mode, as well as something fun to do while I’m on an airplane.

To start off, I want to preface this by saying that if you aren’t having fun playing Ironman due to the restrictive nature of the challenge, don’t play it. The challenge modes are about enhancing a Wynncraft playthrough by offering an extra challenge. If you’re scared to play Ironman because you could find a rare item or a mythic but otherwise would, just play it. The likelihood that you’ll actually find anything is extremely low if you don’t loot run, and even if you do, hey. You’ve got a mythic on Ironman, that’s really cool.

Ironman mode isn’t an impossible challenge by itself. In fact, it’s extremely enjoyable with the addition of the Ingredient Pouch, since you don’t need to look at 27 of your items. The challenge is more about forging your own path in the game and not relying on other people to carry you through the game.

Anyways, I’ll try to keep this somewhat orderly and to the point.

    Early Game

When you begin playing Ironman, just shovel anything that you can find into your inventory. It doesn’t matter what the item is (other than weapons that aren’t for your class) since you have 55 inventory slots with the ingredient pouch. Do some of the early game content and quests if you want, and generally just have fun. If you want to grind, just use the spot on the right at the end of the Emerald Trail. I also recommend camping the tree spot in Nivla Forest at least once for some potential early game gear and emeralds.

When you get to Detlas, clean your inventory out and identify potentially useful items. Buy a few scrolls, and keep them in a spot in your Hotbar always. Fast travel is really important on Ironman, and I highly suggest at least doing all quests that unlock fast travel so you have to carry less scrolls. In addition to this, any items kept in the ingredient pouch will never drop on death.

After that, I don’t have any specific advice other than keep your powders. Drop unwanted or unneeded items, and you can choose to throw quest items you get away, such as the one from Grave Digger, or keep them. I would honestly recommend not doing many of the quests that give items until you’re at the level to use them, but up to you.

    Midgame

By now, you should have a grasp on how Ironman works and how you want to play it. Keep extra legendaries or generally good items you get in case they’re better later, powders, a cash stack, and other items you want. You should have a good amount of inventory slots still— the Ingredient Pouch is extremely good in that regard. Have fun knowing that you aren’t contributing to or relying on the economy or other players, and just play like you would play a normal character.

    Late Midgame

This is starting from about level 80 or so. As soon as possible after you hit level 80, do the ??? quest. There’s always that one guy in the ??? party that makes it take like five fucking hours but honestly the Cosmic set is really good. It’s fully untradable, which means it never drops on death, and gives a really nice XP bonus. If you want to grind at more dangerous spots, run a corrupted dungeon for an untradable weapon and Corrupted Infested Pit for an untradable bracelet that gives another 10% XP Bonus. Questing from around level 70 to 95 is also really nice and mostly enjoyable. You shouldn’t have to grind too much for the levels. As far as inventory management goes, wear your untradable set if you’re getting low on SP or are farming XP, and keep your other build in the Ingredient Pouch- it should take up exactly one row, so this leaves 18 slots for whatever other items you have, still with an almost full inventory.

    Endgame

Keep leveling and finalize your endgame build. It doesn’t matter what build you choose to go for as long as it’s semi-decent and you enjoy using it. Keep your Cosmic set and re identify it until you get semi good rolls, since you likely will have a sizable chunk of money from quests and whatnot. Prepare for the Silent Expanse content and clear un-needed quest items or other items out of your ingredient pouch by doing quests and whatnot, and then go for it, I guess. When and how you do EO is up to you, but I would HIGHLY recommend not rushing through A Hunter’s Calling. Just have fun with it, and don’t look up the puzzles unless you’re stuck on them for over a day or so— playing Ironman or any character really isn’t about the stats or speed, but a new way to enjoy the game. and it’s the final quest ffs don’t wiki that ree

    Post-Endgame

This one’s up to you, honestly. You could go for 100% completion, do LI runs. Stop playing if you want. Do professions. Whatever.

    ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

    Crafting on Ironman

Now this was quite hard before the ingredient pouch was added, but now that it’s here, Ironman is actually quite viable to train profs on if you want to do that, or have a Craftsman class.

Early game, you’re just gonna want to buy all four tools and do the professions wherever you can. I would recommend not doing all of them, but again, it’s up to you. Don’t grind professions because you want to gain leaderboard places. Please. It’s a really fast way to burn out and lose motive, unless grinding professions is something that you enjoy doing. I admittedly enjoy it very much, and I need to take breaks sometimes to avoid losing interest due to the repeated grind of the endgame professions.

Instead, do professions because you want to, or think that it would be a fun thing to level up alongside your character. Maybe it has to do with immersion, or the overall feel that you want your character to have while you’re playing it. Back to the point, though, you’ll need to manage your inventory more at the earlier stages of professions. I would recommend starting once the initial chaos of items has settled, but again, it’s up to you.

Midgame, focus on one or two crafting professions at a time— gather the materials and ingredients needed and then craft them all in one fell swoop. I highly recommend storing as much as possible in your ingredient pouch as you don’t lose them if you die. You may or may not want profession XP/Speed at this level, but if you’re just leveling one or two professions I wouldn’t recommend it (of course, unless you want to speed the process up somewhat, which I definitely don’t blame you for.)

Endgame you’re going to want to do pretty much the same thing as midgame. If you already have your endgame build, toss all powders and anything you don’t want, and gather ingredients last. Completely fill your inventory as much as you possibly can, then wait for profession bombs and use all of them in one go. After you make your final build that you’re going to use, I recommend dropping the tools you don’t need. You can also get multiple of one kind of tool without being penalized for carrying extra, since you can store the tools in your ingredient pouch. Post-100 is also quite like this.

That’s about it. I mostly made this for fun and because I’m mildly addicted to Wynncraft atm. Hopefully this helped someone.

Here's a good picture from when I did 91-100 woodworking in one inventory:

Great guide, with the ingredient pouch added ironman doesn’t seem so hard. I may just give it a try.

By the way, is that royal bug blood in your ingredient pouch?
