Some Criticism About The Silent Expanse

Hey,

I personally don't really think it fits...don't get me wrong it's really well built and the variety of enemies is pretty good too.

It's music is well done too.

But...

It doesn't really fit to the other 3 provinces... this one is dark, it's music makes you feel uneasy, you don't really like to go there.

It just doesn't fit to those other 3 ones because the other ones are bright, colorful and kind of happy.

It's pretty good, but yeah...doesn't really fit to the other ones... and i don't really understand the story, before we start the first quest of this province, the mine that leads to it is wide and open, so it's monsters should have been able to go to Wynn for a long time before we "open" it. Or do I get something wrong?

Overall, well made and nice province...but doesn't really fit to the other provinces...I'll just call it the black sheep of the provinces.

If you think SE doesnt “fit in” with the other areas of the world, just look at the nether portal.

isn't molten height also a bit odd? or the Lexdale area? or the void? those aren't

some areas are corrupt, like the decay in gavel, or the nether in Wynn.
Silent expanse is just another one of those corruptions. but it's like big mama corruption.


I don't know much about the lore but im sure it helps to explain and maybe integrate the area better into the world

 

Silent Expanse looks better than ugly decayed land in Gavel.

 

Um, 50% of Gavel is evil and dark, Wynn is ravaged by the Corruption and Corkus is littered with rebellious machinery, also did you really want a generic spooky area? This isn't even a criticism, it's just some random complaint that wants it not to be unique. Also the Silent Expanse was originally found by some miners, but in the discovery Mining Cessation, we learn they blocked off the exit, and then we come and break it open, the miners now reside in Lutho, living in a blissful alternate reality under the influence of the Obelisk, a relic of light that found its way into the Silent Expanse.

Uhh, nothing confirms the so-called "Dernic Beast" to have COME from the Nether Portal, just because Bak'al works for him doesn't confirm that, he most likely originated from the Dern Portal behind the Eldritch Outlook, and The Eye wasn't sent by the Dernic Beast, it was created, or well, a part of him.

Seriously though... I do not get what you are trying to say. It does not fit with other provinces? I mean... With all due respect, I do not think this Thread was needed and it just left me in confusion.

Could you explain a bit more what you mean/why you decided to make this thread?

 

Maybe dive into the lore? Atleast try to understand why there’s a Silent Expanse before making a complaint lmao.

Corkus is not a province, this bunch of steampunks doesn't deserve anything, they annihilated a bunch of bird.

What defines Wynn thematically is a adventure.
Most of the music and artistical style push towards that, its kind of why it's bright and happy.
The Silent Expanse is a kind of indirect obsession with that, seeing as its HEAVILY influenced by Lovecraft, whos fundamental horror followed fear of the unknown.
It's like that on purpose, they are meant to go against one and another, its like the counter-argument in an essay.
"You really like adventure eh? but what if you found something... indescribable while doing it?"

I'm thinking about doing a kind of video essay on this, the theme of Wynncraft.

 

Yeah, I agree, hope they do better with that blackened out area in the corner of the map that says "coming soon".
