Alright, so i bought myself some Loot Quality leggings, 10 LE seemed reasonable for 45% Loot Bonus and 40% Loot Quality.

And then i instantly got tons of questions.
First of all, does the durability of them really get worn down just by wearing them? I dont mean walking around, literally just wearing it, does that wear them down?
Second of all, when fully repaired, it's at 100% durability, if it reaches 0%, it doesn't disappear, right?
Third of all, what would be the most effective way of using these? I was told that you should wear some ordinary good leggings, then when you find a chest, take your current leggings off and switch them for the Loot Quality ones. Do not move, because it will wear down the 1/1 durability of the leggings, open the chest, collect your items, and then put the original leggings back on.

    Thanks!

Durability will not be worn down just for wearing the pants. Once at 0%, the item does not disappear but the effects will be drastically lowered. I am not sure what's the most effective way of using the pants, and I can't think of any better option due to the fact that it only has 1/1 durability.

yes - you'll lose around 1-2 dura (durability) per minute of constant movement, which sounds really bad, but only if you constantly focus on the dura of your armour whilst playing.

100 durability on an armour piece should last you for around 20 minutes of constant movement before needing to repair. I believe taking damage from enemies / fall damage has a certain %chance of losing 1 dura per instance of taking damage, and you won't lose any durability whilst standing still.

well then this is certainly confusing.
Because i bought a pair of loot quality leggings a while back with 1 durability, i can assure you i wasnt getting hit, i assure you i wasn't moving, i would run up to a chest, put the loot quality leggings on, not move an inch, then open the chest and grab my loot, and then take the leggings back off.

and they would still break after the 3rd or 4th use

That also sounds strange to me...

Perhaps each time the player opens a chest, there's a %chance of losing durability, but if that's not the reason then I got no clue why that's happening

Wait, so armor is affected by movement and not hits? I get that if you made super speed armor and never got hit that'd be hilariously overpowered, but MOVEMENT drains dura? Guess if you wanna lootrun with those leggings you'll need a horse and negative walkspeed

So the only redeeming about the entirety of armoring and tailoring would be loot quality? Really? They need to change how durability works for stuff like that, it seems like a nightmare to deal with

it really is, even though scrap is 3 emeralds a piece, it's a huge pain to repair a large amount of crafted stuff just because of how long it takes to farm the scrap.
"Well i just used my loot quality armor for 4 minutes, now i gotta run back and forth between the armor merchant and the blacksmith for 15 minutes."

You realize you could have a inventory fulled to the brim with emeralds, buy several helmets, throw them on the ground, buy more and throw them on the ground, rinse and repeat, you got a constant source of refilling your inventory with helmets, also perhaps just buy like a thousand scrap from market, for well, a higher price, but convenient way to repair without exhaustion
